When: 8:00 pm ET
TV/Streaming: ESPN

Who knew that the Clemson basketball team would be ranked higher than the football season this year? The Tigers (11-1, 1-0 ACC) rolled on Friday in a non-conference game, routing Radford at home, 93-58, and covering as 15 ½-point favorites. Miami (10-2, 1-0 ACC) also feasted on non-conference opposition over the weekend, steamrolling North Florida, 95-55, as 19 ½-point favorites.

Clemson’s offense has put up 82.3 points per game, which ranks fourth among ACC teams. They shoot 49.6% overall and 39.2% from downtown, knocking down 9.6 shots from distance per game. Hall leads Clemson with 20.5 points per game, the second-best scoring average in the conference. The senior center leads Clemson with 1.2 steals and 2.4 blocks per game, shooting 56.4% overall on the season.

Miami has won three in a row and five out of six; over the last three games, the Hurricanes are putting up 92 points per game. The Hurricanes have a three-game winning streak going in this rivalry and should win again. Hurricanes to cover.

N.C. State Wolfpack at Notre Dame Fighting Irish

NCAAB Odds: N.C. State (-4.5) at Notre Dame (O/U 137.5)
When: 9:00 pm ET
TV/Streaming: ACC Network

Notre Dame (6-7, 1-1 ACC) welcomes the N.C. State Wolfpack (9-3, 1-0 ACC) in their fifth straight home game. However, the Irish have gone just 2-2 so far in their homestand. The Wolfpack opened ACC play back in December with an 84-78 win at Boston College, covering as 2 ½-point underdogs. Since that win the Wolfpack have gone 5-1 straight up and 4-2 against the spread.

The Wolfpack score 79.8 points per game, shooting 46% overall and 35% from behind the arc. They have four different players scoring in double digits, led by Arizona State transfer D.Jo Horne (15 points per game). He just scored 26 against Detroit Mercy, going 6 of 11 from behind the arc. D.J. Burns is second on the team in scoring (13.2 points per game) and leads the team on the boards (5.0 per game). They have a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio, which ranks 28th in the nation, and they are roughly even on the boards.

Notre Dame has a young team that is on the way back from an unsightly record last year (11-21, 3-17 ACC). The Irish shocked Virginia in their last game, winning by 22 despite entering as 9 ½-point underdogs. They score just 63.6 points per game while permitting 65.6, shooting 40% from the floor and 28% from behind the arc. They turn the ball over a lot (12.8 per game), but they are the third-youngest crew in the nation, and they have a true freshman leading the team in scoring in Markus Burton (15.9 points per game). In that win over Virginia, though, the Irish had five different players in double figures, as J.R. Konieczny, Carey Booth, and Kebba Njie joined Burton in double figures. Irish to cover.

2023 Top Midweek Betting Games for College Basketball in December 6 | Week 5 NCAAB

The Arizona Wildcats are this week’s #1 team in the Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball poll. Last week’s top team, the Purdue Boilermakers, slid down to #4 after losing their Big Ten opener in overtime at Northwestern. Kansas moved up to #2, climbing three spots, thanks to their win against the defending men’s basketball champion, UConn. Unbeaten Houston climbed from #6 to #3, although the Cougars still have yet to play a quality opponent. UConn dropped from #4 to #5 after the setback at Kansas, and unbeaten Baylor is now sixth. North Carolina and Gonzaga entered the top ten for the first time in 2023-24. Let’s take a look at two quality NCAAB betting picks for Top Midweek Betting Games.

Memphis Tigers at Virginia Commonwealth Rams

NCAAB Odds: VCU +1 +105 U 74 // Memphis -1 -135 O 74
When: 7:00 pm ET
TV/Streaming: ESPNU

Memphis (5-2) is one of the favorites to win the AAC, just behind Florida Atlantic on the odds lists. Even so, Memphis started 5-0 before losing to Villanova, 79-63, and Ole Miss, 80-77. They have only covered in three of their seven games so far. Against Ole Miss, the Tigers were up, 37-30, but they fell off the table after halftime, shooting just 16.7% from downtown and just 42.5% overall. They did outrebound the Rebels, but that wasn’t enough to get the win. David Jones leads Memphis in points (18.4), rebounding (6.3) and steals (2.3), and Jahvon Quinerly does a great job running the point, scoring 10.9 points per game and dishing out an average of 4.6 assists.

VCU (4-4) started out strong but has gone 1-3 in their last four, falling to Iowa State, 68-65, Boise State, 65-51, and Norfolk State, 63-60. The only win in this stretch has come against Penn State by a dozen. The loss to Norfolk State was a significant upset as the Rams entered as 12 ½-point favorites. VCU only shot 36.2% from the loss and coughed the ball up 17 times while only forcing seven turnovers on defense. VCU did outrebound Norfolk State, 35-27. Max Shulga is the team’s top scorer with 16.0 points per game. Zeb Jackson puts up 14.9 points per game and leads the team in assists (4.00) and steals (1.4). Memphis does have more stability, as Penny Hardaway is in his sixth season as head coach, but VCU does have that win over Penn State and the home court advantage. Rams to cover.

#12 Texas Longhorns at #8 Marquette Golden Eagles

NCAAB Odds: Marquette -3.5 -230 U 79.5 // Texas +3.5 +165 O 79.5
When: 8:00 pm ET
TV/Streaming: FS1

Texas won their last game easily, running out to an early 20-point lead midway through the first half against Texas State. The Bobcats pulled within one point in the last ten minutes of regulation, but then the Longhorns’ defense locked things down and did not permit a point for the last four minutes of regulation, winning behind 26 points from Max Abmas. Texas is 43rd in the nation in scoring at 81.3 points per game. Almost 71% of their shots in the paint make it home, and from behind the arc, they have a solid 36% shooting percentage. Turnovers have been an issue, but they have shown they can protect the ball when they need to. Texas rebounds well, especially on the offensive glass, but second-chance points have been a problem that they need to solve. On defense, the Longhorns rank 58th in the nation, permitting 65.9 points per game. They allow opponents to make just over half of their shots in the paint, an area that Marquette likes to exploit – and the Longhorn big men have had a way of getting into early foul trouble.

Marquette got punched in the mouth by Wisconsin on the road on Saturday, falling, 75-64. They got outrebounded by 15 and permitted 15 offensive boards. They only shot 41% overall and 24% from behind the three-point arc. Kam Jones was the top scorer with 19, one of three starters in double figures, but overall the offense struggled. They have scored 79.3 points per game this season, 63rd in the nation, with almost half of their points coming in the lane, where they shoot almost 65%. From behind the arc, they get 42% of their points, which means that when the shots aren’t falling, the offense stalls. They have an elite turnover rate, but they also need to rebound better to win. On defense, Marquette ranks 74th in the nation, permitting 67 points per game. If they box out, they should win, but they didn’t box out against Wisconsin. Longhorns to cover.
