CONCACAF Champions Cup Betting Odds Today for Round of 16 Games, 2nd Leg

The 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup has reached the second leg of the Round of 16. One of the most exciting matches in the first leg took place in Nashville, where Inter Miami came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie Nashville and head home with a pair of away goals. Lionel Messi got Inter on the board in the 52nd minute, scoring his first CONCACAF goal, and then Luis Suarez drew the visitors level in the fifth minute of stoppage time, converting a header off a cross from Sergio Busquets. Let’s look ahead to the second leg’s matches, with a quick Champions Cup CONCACAF betting preview for each showdown.

CONCACAF Champions Cup Betting Analysis for Round of 16 Games, 2nd Leg

Columbus Crew vs Houston Dynamo

When: Tuesday, March 12, 6:00 pm ET
Columbus leads aggregate, 1-0

When Columbus won the first leg down in Houston, 1-0, it was the first time they had beaten the Dynamo down in Texas in 13 years. The Dynamo have been leaky on defense this season, permitting just one clean sheet in their last four matches. Home has been friendly to the Crew fo far in 2024, but the sample size (2-0 in MLS play so far) is admittedly small. However, their defense is just one of three in the whole Champions Cup to have held the opposition scoreless so far. Crew to win and advance.

Pachuca vs Philadelphia Union

When: Tuesday, March 12, 8:15 pm ET
Aggregate tied, 0-0

The Union head to Mexico with the advantage of having at least two of their three missing starters from the first leg back on the pitch. Damion Lowe and Jack Elliott had to sit out after getting too many yellow cards in the competition, and Julian Carranza missed via injury. Carranza remains questionable, but the other two starters will be back. This match was delayed from Saturday due to heavy rains in Pachuca, who then lost, 2-1, in league play on Sunday. Union to win and advance.

Tigres UANL vs Orlando City SC

When: Tuesday, March 12, 10:30 pm ET
Aggregate tied, 0-0

Getting the draw was actually a major win for Orlando City SC as Tigres possessed for 62 percent of the match, outshooting the visitors, 22-9 and forced Orlando City goalie Pedro Gallese to make eight saves. Look for Orlando to do better in the possession game playing at home, but they have to reduce the number of chances for Tigres. Tigres to win and advance.

SV Robinhood vs CS Herediano

When: Wednesday, March 13, 6:00 pm ET
Herediano leads aggregate, 2-0

Herediano heads to Surinam to take on Robinhood after taking a 2-0 lead in the first leg. In their five prior matches, Robinhood had won four and drawn one in league play, including a 7-0 thrashing of SV Santos. However, they found a solid side in Herediano. Can Robinhood take advantage of home field in the second leg? They seem to be playing against another level of competition here. Herediano to win and advance.

Inter Miami vs Nashville SC

When: Wednesday, March 13, 8:15 pm ET
Aggregate tied, 2-2

Inter leads the MLS standings, with seven points out of four matches – including a disappointing 3-2 loss to Montreal this past weekend. The Montreal match did see several key players rest for Inter ahead of this second-leg matchup. Nashville built a 2-0 lead on the L.A. Galaxy this past weekend in MLS play but permitted a comeback for the draw – similar to their outcome against Inter at home in the first leg. Inter to win and advance.

Club America vs Guadalajara

When: Wednesday, March 13, 10:30 pm ET
Club America leads aggregate, 3-0

These teams will be tired of each other by the end of the week as they play their second leg on Wednesday and meet again in Liga MX play on Saturday. In the first leg, Club America converted from the spot just 15 minutes in. In the second half, Guadalajara lost Alan Eduardo Torres Villaneuva in the 61st minute to a red card, and Club America piled on two more goals. For the match, Club America possessed for 62%. Club America to win and advance.

L.D. Alajuelense vs New England Revolution

When: Thursday, March 14, 8:00 pm ET
New England leads aggregate, 4-0

The Revs head to Costa Rica after drilling Alajuelense at home, 4-0, in the opening leg. Alajuelense actually launched more shots (15-12), but many were from distance as the Revs led in shots on target, 8-3. The Revs possessed for 56% of the match. With this immense lead, expect New England to take a conservative approach. Take the draw, Revolution to advance.

CF Monterrey vs FC Cincinnati

When: Thursday, March 14, 10:15 pm ET
Monterrey leads aggregate, 1-0

Monterrey heads home with a huge advantage, getting the win and that crucial away goal. Brandon Vazquez got revenge against his former team, finding the back of the net in hte 24th minute. Monterrey is perfect in three Champions Cup matches while FC Cincinnati is now 3-1-1 across all competitions in 2024. Can Cincinnati deliver the road upset? Take the draw, Monterrey to advance.

CONCACAF Champions Cup Round 1 Betting Analysis

CONCACAF Champions Cup Betting Analysis for Round 1 Games, 2nd Leg

The 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup is the premier soccer club competition in North America, Central America and the Caribbean region. For the first time, this tournament features 27 teams and a knockout phase that lasts five rounds. The winner qualifies for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, along with the winners from the previous three years (Monterrey, Seattle Sounders FC, and Leon), as well as the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, set for December. The matchups from Tuesday through Thursday are from the second leg of the opening round, which will yield the round of 16.

Orlando City SC vs Cavalry FC

When: Tuesday, February 27, 6:00 pm ET
Orlando leads aggregate, 3-0

Orlando City built a mammoth lead last Wednesday, taking a 3-0 away victory. Duncan McGuire found the back of the net first for the visitors, and then Facundo Torres tacked on a brace in a start-to-finish dominant performance. Orlando City tallied their first three road goals in any continental competition, as well as their first win in this setting away from home. This is their fourth international cup overall and their second CONCACAF Champions Cup appearance after drawing in both matches against Tigres UANL in 2023, losing on the tiebreaker of away goals. In their last match, they drew CF Montreal on SAturday thanks to a clean sheet from goalie Pedro Gallese.

Cavalry FC has not played since the first leg last week. The Canadian team finished at the top of the Canadian PRemier League table but lost, 2-1, after extra time in the championship match, losing to Forge FC. They represent some of the best talent in Canadian club soccer, and they brought plenty of energy to start each half last week and put together some intriguing scoring chances after the intermission. Orlando City needs just a win, draw, or even a loss by no more than two goals, but if Cavalry can deliver the away rout, advancement remains possible. Orlando City to win and advance.

Philadelphia Union vs Deportivo Saprissa

When: Tuesday, February 27, 8:15 pm ET
Philadelphia leads aggregate, 3-2

Philadelphia will play for the third time in seven days as they drew with Chicago at home, 2-2, over the weekend in their MLS opener. In the first leg against Saprissa, they went to Costa Rica and picked up a gritty 3-2 away win. Those three away goals set up a mighty tiebreaker advantage for the hosts this time around. Things started ugly down in Costa Rica as an own goal benefiting Saprissa was the only tally in the first half. Julian Carranza found his legs and delivered an impressive hat trick to pick up the win after the intermission, despite a second goal from Saprissa in the 90th minute. Expect some of Philadelphia’s younger players to get the start this time around, with the veterans having played both Wednesday and Saturday. Take the draw, Philadelphia to advance.

Houston Dynamo vs St. Louis City SC

When: Tuesday, February 27, 10:30 pm ET
St. Louis leads aggregate, 2-1

St. Louis comes to Houston just needing a draw to advance to the Round of 16 after getting the home victory last week. The teams played a scoreless first half before Tim Parker scored in the 61st minute. It took 11 minutes for Houston to draw level thanks to Sebastian Kowalcyzk’s tally. Hosei Kijima, making his St. Louis debut, came on in the 86th minute and then scored the winner four minutes later.

Over the weekend, both teams started their MLS campaigns with 1-1 draws, as Houston tied Sporting Kansas City thanks to a 69th minute equalizer from Gabriel Segal, and St. Louis also came back against Real Salt Lake, with Samuel Adeniran tying the game a dozen minutes after entering the match. St. Louis has beaten Houston twice and the teams have drawn once in three all-time matchups. However, the Dynamo have an 11-match unbeaten streak at home across all competitions, while St. Louis has won just once in 10 away games across all competitions, including seven losses. Take the draw, St. Louis to advance.

FC Cincinnati vs Cavalier

When: Wednesday, February 28, 7:00 pm ET
Cincinnati leads aggregate, 2-0

FC Cincinnati went down to Jamaica and delivered an impressive 2-0 win. Sergio Santos scored the side’s first goal in a continental competition in extra time at the end of the first half. Malik Pinto added the insurance goal in the 87th minute, but Roman Celentano’s clean sheet made the second goal unnecessary – although having the two away goals is a nice asset going into the second leg.

Cavalier leads the first division in Jamaica, with four wins in their last five matches and an 11-match unbeaten streak in league play. Cavalier is in the middle of their season, and their advantages in rhythm were clear. Cincinnati had the ball for over 70 percent of the match, but only seven of their 28 shots were on goal. Cavalier utilized a variety of passes to stretch the field but otherwise packed their own box to dare Cincinnati to score from distance. Cincinnati to win and advance.

Nashville SC vs Moca FC

When: Wednesday, February 28, 9:15 pm ET
Nashville leads aggregate, 3-0

The Dominican side Moca FC heads to Music City in search of a miracle asd Nashville delivered a 3-0 thumping, stacking up three away goals. Expect Moca to play with absolutely nothing to lose, which could yield some interesting moments. They forced Nashville goalkeeper Joe Willis to make a save and had some other dangerous incidents in the Nashville end of the field. They specialize in the counter game, which means they will look to strike deep when Nashville commits players forward. It will be all about forcing mistakes, and expect left winger Roberto Louima to play the whole match after coming on in the second half of the first leg and giving the Nashville defense some fits.

With that 3-0 lead, Nashville should have a rotated lineup which means McKinze Gaines, Brian Anunga and Amar Sejdic might get an unusually long match, even the whole 90 minutes. Nashville averages two matches per week for several months thanks to different competitions, and getting out the reserves against an overmatched Moca team makes a lot of sense. Expect a conservative plan from Nashville, but also expect them to control play. Nashville to win and advance.

New England Revolution vs Independiente

When: Thursday, February 29, 8:15 pm ET
New England leads aggregate, 1-0)

The Revs got the only goal of the first leg, with Tomas Chancalay putting the ball in the net shortly after halftime. They followed that up with a dud in their MLS opener, taking a 3-1 thumping in Washington at the hands of DC United. Independiente did not even get one shot on target as they continue to prepare for league play, which begins next week. The Revs have dropped two of three overall but have the edge with that away goal. The REvs have only two clean sheets in their last 18 matches across all competitions, but Independiente has just one clean sheet in their last six. Revolution to win and advance.
