U.S. Open Cup 2022 Betting Predictions and Analysis for Round 32

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup has reached the round of 32, with matches set for May 10 and May 11. This trophy is similar to the FA Cup in England and allows soccer clubs from a variety of tiers to compete for the national trophy. Most of the 32 teams hail from Major League Soccer, the top division in the United States, but there are still some lower-division teams alive. Take a look at the schedule for play on May 11, along with some Soccer betting predictions.

Soccer News: U.S. Open Cup Matches (May 11)

→ Charlotte FC at Richmond Kickers (6:30 pm ET)

Charlotte is in fifth place in the USL Championship – Eastern Conference, nine places and 16 points ahead of the Richmond Kickers. Richmond should come in with plenty of motivation as their season nears an end, so give me Richmond to win in an upset.

→ Rochester New York FC at NYCFC (7:00 pm ET)

Rochester sits in fourth place in the USL Championship – Eastern Conference, while NYCFC is in sixth place in the MLS Eastern Conference. Rochester will have the heart, but NYCFC has the talent. NYCFC to win.

→ FC Cincinnati at New England Revolution (7:00 pm ET)

Cincinnati is five points (and six places) ahead of New England in the tight MLS East. Cincinnati has five wins – but also five losses, and a draw. The Revolution has three wins, five losses and a draw, and a match in hand. New England also has a better goal differential (-2) than Cincinnati (-3), so I’m going with New England to win.

→ Colorado Rapids at Minnesota United FC (8:00 pm ET)

Colorado sits three points behind Minnesota in the MLS Western Conference standings after ten matches. While this match will have no impact on those standings, Minnesota should take advantage of their home field. Take Minnesota to win.

→ Atlanta United at Nashville SC (8:00 pm ET)

These two MLS sides are both in the middle of their conference standings, as Nashville sits in sixth and Atlanta sits in seventh. Atlanta has played better than Nashville in recent weeks, climbing out of the lower half of the table, so give me Atlanta United for the win.

→ Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC at Union Omaha (8:00 pm ET)

These two teams are toiling in the lower half of USL League One, with Hailstorm sitting in tenth place and Union Omaha sitting in eighth. The season is young, with both teams having played four matches and won once. Union Omaha has two draws and a loss for 5 points, and Hailstorm has a draw and two losses for 4 points. There are only 11 teams in the USL League One table, and these two teams are both looking for that puncher’s chance to get to the Round of 16. Take Union Omaha at home for the win.

→ San Antonio FC at Houston Dynamo (8:30 pm ET)

San Antonio FC plays in the Western Conference of the USL Championship and has seven wis and 2 losses (21 points) on the season, second in the conference behind the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, who have 24 points. They visit a Houston Dynamo team that is in eighth place in the 14-team MLS Western Conference. The Dynamo beat the Rio Grand Valley Toros, 2-1, in the third round of the Open Cup, but they have a four-match winless streak in MLS that dates back to April 9. Take San Antonio FC for the upset.

→ San Jose Earthquakes at Seattle Sounders (10:00 pm ET)

San Jose has nine points through 10 matches in MLS play, sitting in 11th in the Western Conference, two places and two points above the Seattle Sounders, who have a pair of matches in hand. Neither team is scoring or defending that well, so I will take the home team. Seattle to win.

→ Phoenix Rising FC at Sacramento Republic (10:30 pm ET)

These two teams sit fourth and fifth (respectively) in the USL Championship – Western Conference. Phoenix Rising has the more prolific offense, with 18 goals in 9 games, while Sacramento has tallied just 11 in the same number of contests.

→ L.A. Galaxy at California United Strikers FC (10:30 pm ET)

The California United Strikers are a club from the National Independent Soccer Association with dreams of a huge upset when they host L.A. Galaxy, the third-place team in the MLS’ Western Conference. Expect maximum effort from the Strikers…but expect a Galaxy win. Don’t bet a lot on them, because the value will be minimal.
