Updated NFL Odds to Win Super Bowl LVI

Updated NFL Odds to Win Super Bowl LVI

Written by on October 11, 2021

The Arizona Cardinals held off the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday to win, 17-10, and they remain the NFL’s lone unbeaten team. There are four other teams in the NFC that have just one loss: Dallas, Green Bay, Tampa Bay and the L.A. Rams. Dallas and Green Bay lost in Week 1 and have not lost since, and the only team to beat Tampa Bay was the Rams. In the AFC, the L.A. Chargers and the Buffalo Bills are the only 4-1 teams, as the 3-1 Baltimore Ravens head into Monday night looking for that fourth win against the Indianapolis Colts. The only winless teams are the Detroit Lions (who have come oh so close on several occasions) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (who are simply dreadful).

Let’s look at the latest online NFL betting odds to win this season’s Super Bowl.

The Arizona Cardinals have not had a 5-0 start to a season since 1975, when the team was in St. Louis. Their offense has been the driving force for their team, but they were sputtering a bit against San Francisco in Week 5. Luckily, their defense stood tall against the 49ers, who were starting Trey Lance at quarterback for the first time.

The Los Angeles Rams lost to Arizona last week but went to Seattle and ran over the Seahawks on the road. The Seahawks lost Russell Wilson to a finger sprain that could keep him out 4-8 weeks, but Geno Smith came on to lead a comeback that fell short. The Rams’ offense wasn’t firing on all cylinders, but the defense made the difference.

The Buffalo Bills look like the most complete team in the NFL right now. Josh Allen scored with his feet and through the air, and the defense would not let Patrick Mahomes get settled in the pocket. The result was a huge win for the Bills at Arrowhead Stadium — and an acknowledgment that the Chiefs are way too high up the Super Bowl odds list.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers saw a much more balanced offense against Miami than the one that barely beat New England last week, and Tom Brady & Co put up 45 points on a Dolphins team that has had a fairly stout defense up to this point.

The Green Bay Packers went back and forth with Cincinnati in an entertaining Week 5 battle that saw a parade of missed field goals near the end. Both teams had a shot at the win, but the Packers took advantage of their opportunities and got the overtime victory.

The Dallas Cowboys have an offense that no one has managed to stop yet, and the defense is coming together more quickly than many football observers (including this one) thought it would.

The L.A. Chargers might have the best quarterback not named Josh Allen right now, as Justin Herbert is thriving in this new offense. The Chargers hung 47 points on a solid Cleveland defense, as Herbert used tailback Austin Ekeler to bring about the sort of balance that kept the Browns from getting a defensive rhythm.

The Cleveland Browns got terrific offense against the Chargers, but their secondary will need some work this week after getting torched by Justin Herbert. Injuries are playing a part in this issue, but the communication must get better.

The Cincinnati Bengals are still flying under the radar, but that offense is dangerous, as Joe Burrow returns with more maturity in his second year, and Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon have grown into a tough tailback duo. Could the Bengals push the Browns and the Ravens and take the AFC North? It’s doubtful, but none of those three teams looks dominant yet.
