Sure Losers for NFL Week 10: Get Your Betting Right this Week

Written by on November 8, 2021

Week 9 was definitely a week of upsets in the National Football League. Arizona went to San Francisco with a backup quarterback and won; Denver went to Dallas as a fairly significant underdog and blew out the Cowboys. Buffalo went to Jacksonville and only managed six points against one of the league’s worst teams. Las Vegas went to New York and was dealt a loss by the highly inconsistent Giants. What can you expect in Week 10?

We have some teams that we feel certain will be NFL betting losers.

NFL News: Sure Losers for Week 10

Baltimore Ravens (-7) at Miami Dolphins

This Thursday night game has the Ravens traveling on a short week after having to go to overtime to knock off Minnesota. The Ravens were down 14 in the early going and had to burn a lot of energy just to come back. However, this line still seems a bit small, because the Miami Dolphins are not a good team this season. They did beat Houston in an ugly game, despite having to start Jacoby Brissett instead of Tua Tagovailoa (finger fracture). Tagovailoa remains questionable for Thursday’s game.

Atlanta Falcons (+9) at Dallas Cowboys

Given that Atlanta went to New Orleans and beat a Saints team that had beaten Tampa Bay the week before, this nine-point line is a little surprising. Add to that the shellacking that Dallas took from Denver (the Broncos were up 30-0 before the Cowboys scored two garbage-time touchdowns), and you have to wonder if Dallas can cover this point spread. Denver showed other teams how to beat Dallas: run the ball, use a variety of coverages to frustrate Dak Prescott, and wait for Mike McCarthy to make poor decisions about fourth-down conversions. Dallas might be able to fight to a win, but I would not give more than a touchdown.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-9.5) at Washington Football Team

Tampa Bay comes in off the bye, having had two weeks to prepare for an awful Washington defense. They’ve also had two weeks to think about that loss in New Orleans. So expect Tom Brady to come out with an unusually large chip on his shoulder and to deal Washington a lot of pain.

Seattle Seahawks (+5.5) at Green Bay Packers

Yes, Green Bay lost by six at Kansas City on Sunday afternoon, but the Packers did not have Aaron Rodgers or Davante Adams on the field. Backup Jordan Love had some solid moments for the Pack, but he does not look ready to take up the reins of the franchise offense. Rodgers could return to the team if he has a negative COVID-19 test on November 13, but that’s the day before the game, so Love would continue getting the first-team reps. It will also be interesting to see, if Rodgers can play Sunday, what the team chemistry will be like after the team had to lose a game with Rodgers out after having misled the public about his vaccination status, violating league protocols for most of the current season and basically costing his team a win against a Kansas City team whose offense remains lost when opponents drop seven or eight players into coverage and dare the Chiefs to beat them on the ground. Seattle could get Russell Wilson (finger) back, as his recovery from surgery has been faster than expected. However, the Packers’ defense is better than the Seahawks’, and even with Wilson, the Seahawks have struggled to find consistency.

Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) at Las Vegas Raiders

The betting public tends to overvalue Kansas City, even this far into what has been an inconsistent season. If Green Bay had had Aaron Rodgers on Sunday, they would have beaten the Chiefs at Arrowhead, and the narrative might be different. Don’t be fooled by the Raiders’ loss in New York this past weekend; at home, they will be ready for the Chiefs.
