Seattle Seahawks 2023 NFL Must-Bet Games

Seattle Seahawks 2023 NFL Must-Bet Games

The Seattle Seahawks are way under the radar this off-season, even in their own division, as we’re hearing a lot more about Brock Purdy’s health and the San Francisco 49ers, the rebuild for the L.A. Rams, and Kyler Murray’s rehab in Arizona. Even so, the Seahawks could be a sneaky-good team and snag a wild-card berth in the playoffs or even take that NFC West title if the 49ers falter. The team added safety Julian Love via free agency and drafted corner Devon Witherspoon fifth overall; along with Tariq Woolen, Witherspoon makes up one of the best young pairs of cornerbacks in the league. Quandre Diggs has two straight Pro Bowl seasons, and Love gives them a third safety option. Could this be the best Seattle secondary since the Legend of Boom days? Let’s look at the NFL betting odds for each game on the Seahawks’ schedule as well as some choice wagering matchups.

NFL Top Betting Games during the 2023 Season

Week 2: at Detroit Lions (+2.5)

The Detroit Lions finished 2022 on a strong note, and it was an early loss to Seattle that actually kept the Lions from being able to take advantage of potential tiebreakers (record against conference opponents) and make it into the playoffs after beating Green Bay in Week 18. So the Lions likely have had this date circled for some time. The Lions enter 2023 with a rejuvenated Jared Goff, who posted the fifth-best QBR in the NFL last season and with improvements on both sides of the ball. The only real question is how the Lions will replace tailback D’Andre Swift after trading him to Philadelphia for, well, not very much. Even so, the Lions should be ready to win this at home. Lions to win and cover.

Week 3: vs Carolina Panthers (-4)

Bryce Young looks like the quarterback of the future in Carolina, but this game will be his third NFL start after a successful career at the University of Alabama. The Seahawks’ strength is its secondary, so expect Pete Carroll to have a game plan dialed in to confuse Young with different coverage looks. The Seahawks have a pretty talented quarterback of their own, in Geno Smith, and an elite running game, so while the Panthers are a team on the rise, they’re not quite ready to come to Seattle and win. Seahawks to win and cover.

Week 8: vs Cleveland Browns (-1.5)

Which Deshaun Watson will we see this year? The one who put the Houston Texans on his back and carried them to AFC South titles, or the one who couldn’t muster more than, say, 180 yards of passing per game after almost two full seasons off the field in Cleveland’s last six games last season? The Cleveland running game is sound, and they have a new defensive coordinator who may be able to get more out of this unit that looks elite on paper but has underperformed in recent season, but without a solid quarterback, this is not looking like a playoff year for the Browns. I won’t bet heavy on this game until I see what Watson has in the regular season, but with this short line, I like Seattle. Seahawks to win and cover.
