Los Angeles Rams Win/Loss NFL Odds Analysis and Betting Predictions

The Los Angeles Rams have dazzled many of the NFL’s sports betting prognosticators with their swap for Matthew Stafford to lead their offense. The Rams made it to the Super Bowl with Jared Goff but only mustered a field goal in the lowest scoring championship game in the Super Bowl era, falling to the New England Patriots. Since then, the Rams have struggled to get back to the top of the NFC, and so the Rams made a change that also cost them a first-round draft pick.

Let’s look at their 2021 schedule and a NFL prediction for each game.

NFL News: Los Angeles Rams Win/Loss Odds Analysis and Betting Predictions

Week 1: vs Chicago Bears (Sunday night)

The Rams are seven-point favorites at home against another team that will have a new quarterback, as Andy Dalton is expected to start for Chicago after putting together a solid second half of 2020 filling in for the injured Dak Prescott in Dallas. The Bears did not do much to shore up their O-line, and their secondary is the worst level of their defense. Given Dalton’s struggles with mobility, the Rams should harass him all night and take the win. Rams to win and cover. (1-0).

Week 2: at Indianapolis Colts (Sunday afternoon)

A West Coast team playing in the Eastern time zone for the early game means a challenge for the Rams. However, the Colts are trying a reclamation project with Carson Wentz, and the Rams’ pressure will force him into poor decisions. The Colts have a stout defense of their own, though, which has meant problems for Stafford in the past. I see the Colts eking this out at home. Rams lose (1-1).

Week 3: vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Sunday afternoon)

The Rams return home to face the defending Super Bowl champions, who still have a stout defense and still have Tom Brady. Stafford will struggle with the pass rush, and while the Rams will put pressure on Brady, that didn’t slow him down much in the playoffs against Washington and New Orleans. Rams lose (1-2).

Week 4: vs Arizona Cardinals (Sunday afternoon)

The Cardinals upped their pass rush by adding J.J. Watt, and the Arizona offense is better than the Rams’. However, the Rams should be able to contain Kyler Murray so that he cannot beat them with his legs. Rams win (2-2).

Week 5: at Seattle Seahawks (Thursday night)

A short week and a trip up the West Coast mean less preparation than normal, but the Rams know the Seahawks. Russell Wilson will have a giant chip on his shoulder, and he still has plenty of mobility. It’s also very difficult to win in Seattle. Rams lose (2-3).

Week 6: at N.Y. Giants (Sunday afternoon)

Aaron Donald should have a field day in this game, terrorizing Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. The Giants don’t have a particularly solid defense, which should give Stafford plenty of opportunities to find Cooper Kupp and the rest of the offense. Rams win (3-3).

Week 7: vs Detroit Lions (Sunday afternoon)

Jared Goff will look to make a statement in Los Angeles, but the Lions don’t have the talent to hang with the Rams, who will be looking to make two statement wins in a row. Rams win (4-3).

Week 8: at Houston Texans (Sunday afternoon)

Deshaun Watson is in camp for Houston, but only to avoid a $50,000 daily fine. The Texans have a terrible roster and are likely to have Tyrod Taylor running the offense. Stafford could have a bad day against the Texans’ defense and still throw for three touchdowns. Rams win (5-3).

Week 9: vs Tennessee Titans (Sunday night)

Derrick Henry will look to pound the ball against the Rams, but if the Rams load the box, Ryan Tannehill will have Julio Jones running routes. The addition of Jones makes the Titan offense an elite unit this season. Rams lose (5-4).

Week 10: at San Francisco 49ers (Monday night)

The 49ers lost defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to the Jets, and the 49ers’ secondary is not particularly solid this season. The 49ers picked up some clutch wins last season, but it’s hard to say they can beat the Rams, even at home. Rams win (6-4).

Week 11: BYE

Week 12: at Green Bay Packers (Sunday afternoon)

It’s sounding more and more like Aaron Rodgers will return to Green Bay; it sounds like all the Packers need to do is put together a trade for Randall Cobb, currently in Houston, to get Rodgers to return. With that in mind, the Packers should be able to win this game at Lambeau. Rams lose (6-5).

Week 13: vs Jacksonville Jaguars (Sunday afternoon)

Trevor Lawrence is a transcendent quarterback of the future for the Jaguars, but he won’t be ready for the Rams’ defense. Rams win (7-5).

Week 14: at Arizona Cardinals (Monday night)

Kyler Murray and the Cardinals get revenge for the earlier loss this season. Rams lose (7-6).

Week 15: vs Seattle Seahawks (Sunday afternoon)

The Rams don’t have to face the 12th man in Seattle this time around, and the Rams’ pressure should force enough bad decisions from Russell Wilson to get this W. Rams win (8-6).

Week 16: at Minnesota Vikings (Sunday afternoon)

We’ve seen duels between Kirk Cousins and Matthew Stafford before. The Vikings’ defense will be much improved, and Dalvin Cook will be pounding the ball for Minnesota. Rams lose (8-7).

Week 17: at Baltimore Ravens (Sunday afternoon)

The duel between Lamar Jackson and Matthew Stafford will go the Ravens’ way, particularly with the game in Baltimore. Rams lose (8-8).

Week 18: vs San Francisco 49ers (Sunday afternoon)

Can the Rams sneak into the postseason with a Week 18 home win? Maybe! A 6-10 NFC team made the playoffs last year. Rams win (9-8).
