A Look at the 2019 NFL Odds for Passing, Rushing and Receiving Yards Leaders

Do you know who led the National Football League in passing yards last year? Tom Brady? Drew Brees? Philip Rivers? Jared Goff? No — the answer was Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who cracked 5,000 yards but still could not lead his team to the postseason. Piling up the yards can be meaningful — and it can also become an interesting futures wager for sports betting enthusiasts. We have the NFL odds for the favorites to lead the in passing yards, rushing yards and receiving yards for you, as well as some perspectives on the top contenders.

A Look at the 2019 NFL Odds for Passing, Rushing and Receiving Yards Leaders

2019 NFL Quarterback Odds

  • Patrick Mahomes II, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan                       +400
  • Aaron Rodgers                                                                        +650
  • Ben Roethlisberger                                                                 +750
  • Drew Brees, Baker Mayfield                                                  +1200
  • Jared Goff, Jameis Wintson                                                   +1600
  • Philip Rivers                                                                            +2000
  • Tom Brady                                                                              +2500

Patrick Mahomes II

Mahomes threw for 5,097 hards in his first season starting at quarterback for Kansas City. He finished just 32 yards short of Roethlisberger’s 5,129. If he had not slowed down his passing pace, he would have won, as he had 300 or more yards in nine of the first eleven games of the season — but just once in the last five games. With a year of seasoning under his belt, Mahomes should be even better in 2019.

Matt Ryan

Ryan has never led the NFL in passing yards, either. He has cracked the top ten in nine different seasons, but he has never been the top passer yardage-wise. He finished third in 2018, just his second top-three finish.

Andrew Luck

Luck is also a poor pick here. He throws consistently, even more so since coming back from a whole group of injuries, but he has never been higher than third in the passing yardage list, back in 2014. It’s hard to see him turning into a volume passer in the attack that the Colts use.

2019 NFL Tailback Odds

  • Ezekiel Elliott                                                                           +300
  • Saquon Barkley                                                                      +360
  • Chris Carson, Joe Mixon                                                        +1200
  • Christian McCaffrey                                                               +1400
  • Le’Veon Bell, Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley II                         +1600
  • David Johnson                                                                        +2600

Ezekiel Elliott

Elliot is currently holding out with two years left in his contract. The Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran Alfred Morris and have some rookies in camp as a contingency plan, but for now, Zeke is headed to Cabo, so do not sink a bunch of money on him.

Saquon Barkley

Barkley could get 400 touches in 2019. Why? The Giants still have Eli Manning, and they did not draft a solid replacement for him at quarterback after their draft, so it could be a run-heavy year for the Giants — which means that Barkley could pile up yards. The problem would come if Giant opponents stack the box and dare them to win through the air.

David Johnson

Johnson is an intriguing value bet. In 2018, he ran behind the NFL’s worst offensive line but still ran for 940 yards. In 2016, he led the NFL with 2,118 all-purpose yards from scrimmage and ran for 1,239 yards. New coach Kliff Kingsbury would like to set the record for plays run from scrimmage, which means Johnson should see a ton of carries.

2019 NFL Wide Receiver Odds

  • Julio Jones                                                                              +400
  • DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr                                    +550
  • Antonio Brown , Juju Smith-Schuster                                     +600
  • Mike Evans, Davante Adams                                                 +800
  • Michael Thomas, Adam Thielen                                             +1000
  • Ty Hilton                                                                                  +1500
  • AJ Green, Amari Cooper                                                        +2000
  • Kenny Golladay, Brandin Cooks                                            +3000
  • Robert Woods, George Kittle, Keenan Allen, Travis Kelce   +3500

Julio Jones

Jones is the favorite because of the scheme in which he plays — and because of quarterback Matt Ryan. Mohamed Sanu is a valuable part of the Falcons’ offense too, but Jones is the rainmaker.

Odell Beckham Jr

Beckham Jr. is an intriguing pick because he has joined Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns, who many think will roll to an AFC North title. Beckham is another dynamic personality in a locker room that already has plenty of noise going on, so it will be interesting to see if the chemistry clicks — or falls apart.

Mike Evans

Evans loves to run across the middle down the field, which is where new Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians loves to throw the ball. This could mean a huge season for Evans and Jameis Winston.
