College Football Odds: Top Picks to Win Heisman Trophy

We’re still a few months away from the start of the 2023 college football season, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start thinking about how we should manage our sports betting on the top individual trophy in the sport – the Heisman Trophy. Caleb Williams, the quarterback for USC, returns to campus as the reigning Heisman winner after a terrific 2022. Obviously, there’s a long way to go, not just in terms of player performance but in such difficult areas as potential injury. Even so, let’s take a look at the existing NCAA Football odds for some of the top contenders to take home the award.

Bet on the College Football!

Caleb Williams

is the favorite to win the trophy again, and with good reason. The USC Trojans had an electric offense last year under Lincoln Riley, and while the Trojans didn’t win the Pac-12, they did enough to keep Williams’ stats rolling. If the Pac-12 can stay relevant enough to keep USC in the national media, and if Williams can keep shredding defenses, then he could be the first repeat Heisman winner since Archie Griffin, and just the second ever.

Drake Maye

threw for 4,321 yards and 45 touchdowns while running for almost 700 yards in his first full campaign leading the North Carolina offense. Wide receivers Antoine Green and Josh Downs have left for the NFL, and there have been some staff changes, but Chip Lindsey has the sort of offense that Maye can operate successfully. In an ACC that is increasingly less elite, Maye should be able to put up some more gaudy numbers in 2023.

Blake Corum

was named as a Heisman finalist last year before he blew out his knee, ending his season. Rather than take a risk on going through the NFL draft undervalued because of that injury, he decided to rehab it and come back to Ann Arbor for another year, to help the Wolverines get back to the College Football Playoff – and to boost his own draft stock for next year. He should be able to pick up at least 1,500 yards from scrimmage, either in carries or receptions, and he should be able to find the end zone 20 or more times. If he does those and can deliver at home against Ohio State, then his name could be on that trophy this season. The last time a tailback won the Heisman was 2015, when Derrick Henry won it. Is Corum a worthy successor? We will see.
