Top NCAAF Betting Picks & Predictions for Week 14

Written by on November 27, 2017

It’s conference championship game week in college football – which means that we’re a week away from finding out who will take the four College Football Playoff slots. Auburn pulled off the stunner of the week this past Saturday, taking down unbeaten Alabama to win the SEC West and leave the Crimson Tide out of the SEC Championship game. Miami also saw their playoff hopes take a huge hit when they fell to Pittsburgh – although the Hurricanes will still face Clemson in the ACC title game. Let’s look at some of the biggest NCAAF betting matchups, along with it’s latest College Football odds for Week 14.

Top NCAAF Betting Picks & Predictions for Week 14

Miami (+9.5) vs Clemson (ACC Championship, Saturday, 8:00pm ET, ABC)

Even with the loss to Pitt, Miami would still likely advance to a playoff slot with a win over Clemson. The Tigers also have a damaging loss – a Friday night upset up at Syracuse several weeks ago – and Clemson advanced to the playoff (and won the national championship) after taking a loss at home against Pitt a year ago. The Hurricanes will miss tight end Chris Herndon, who blew out an MCL against Pittsburgh. He is Miami’s second-leading receiver after Braxton Berrios. Clemson has beaten four ranked teams this year, and their defense will be too much for Miami to overcome. NCAAF Betting Prediction: Clemson 27, Miami 13

Ohio State (-6) vs Wisconsin (Big Ten Championship, Saturday, 8:00pm ET, FOX)

This might be the most puzzling line out there among the Week 14 predictions. Wisconsin has done nothing but win, all season long. Ohio State gave up 55 points to an Iowa team that Wisconsin would then throttle the next week. Yes, Ohio State looked sharp against Michigan last week, but the Wolverines are using their third quarterback of the season, in John O’Korn – and we still don’t know the details of J.T. Barrett’s injury that he suffered in that win. The question for Wisconsin will be quarterback Alex Hornibrook, who has thrown 12 picks in Big Ten play this year. Even so, the pounding Wisconsin defense and their reliance on a strong running game should allow them to control the clock against an Ohio State team that gives up too much with their line. NCAAF Betting Prediction: Wisconsin 27, Ohio State 23

Auburn (-1.5) vs Georgia (SEC Championship, Saturday, 4:00pm ET, CBS)

Over the last three weeks, the Auburn Tigers have beaten the top-ranked team in the nation twice – first when Georgia was #1, and then this past Saturday, when they beat Alabama, who held the top spot. Kerryon Johnson ran for over 100 yards again this week, making it seven times in his last eight games to hit triple digits, although his health remains a concern as he had to leave the Alabama game late. Quarterback Jarrett Stidham played quite well in the Iron Bowl, completing 75 percent of his passes in the contest. He will need to do something similar against Georgia on Saturday afternoon. Georgia needs to figure out how to open holes for their running game, which is their bread and butter but which provided only 48 yards combined when Georgia lost at Auburn. NCAAF Betting Prediction: Auburn 20, Georgia 16

Oklahoma (-7) vs TCU (Big 12 Championship, Saturday, 12:30pm ET, FOX)

Gary Patterson has assembled one of the top defenses in the nation at TCU – and that defense found itself behind Oklahoma, 31-10, when the teams met in Norman a few weeks ago. Now the Horned Frogs have their chance at revenge, after routing Texas Tech and Baylor to get to the conference championship. However, one wonders if the Frogs have found a way to slow the nation’s most explosive offense in just a matter of weeks. Baker Mayfield has shown no signs of losing his edge in the weeks since Oklahoma’s win over TCU. A Sooner win would almost certainly land them in one of the four playoff spots, giving them more motivation than the Frogs have. NCAAF Betting Prediction: Oklahoma 30, TCU 16
