2019 Week College Football 8 Odds, Overview & Top Picks

Written by on October 14, 2019

Week 7 of the 2019 college football season brought a huge shock to Georgia, as the Bulldogs lost at home to South Carolina in double overtime. The other power in the SEC East, the Florida Gators, lost at LSU. However, Alabama picked up a solid win at Texas A&M, making the LSU-Alabama game this season perhaps a true gauge for the conference champion. Oklahoma and Clemson also remained undefeated after convincing wins, and then there are Wisconsin and Ohio State in the Big Ten, both looking like powerhouses as well. Wisconsin and Ohio State meet in the regular season and then could meet again in the Big Ten Championship. Oh, and the Pac-12? Once again, they are looking like they will be on the outside looking in. Notre Dame’s loss to Georgia now looks a lot worse after the Bulldogs fell to those unranked Gamecocks. If you plan on including college football week 7 odds in your sports betting for the week ahead, check out our top picks.

2019 Week College Football 7 Odds, Overview & Top Picks

#16 Michigan (+8) at #7 Penn State Yes, Michigan picked up a big conference win this past weekend, but they also permitted 25 points against Illinois, not one of the Big Ten powerhouses. Penn State also had a big win. This is the game to figure out who will challenge Ohio State in the Big Ten East. I’m not impressed with Michigan in big games this season. Nittany Lions to win and cover. #12 Oregon (-3.5) at #25 Washington Oregon’s defense has been a strength all season long, but Washington just scored 51 points at Arizona. Washington has already lost to Stanford and cannot afford another loss in the Pac-12 North. Will the division turn into a round-robin free for all, or will Oregon establish dominance? Given how the Ducks just spanked Colorado, I like Oregon to win and cover. #18 Arizona State (+12.5) at #15 Utah Utah has looked like they are on a mission since that loss to USC in the early going. However, Arizona State has quarterback Jayden Daniels, who just threw for 363 yards in a win over Washington State. Washington State doesn’t really believe in defense, though. This is a huge point spread against a Sun Devils team that has a win at Michigan State this season. Give me Arizona State to cover. #3 Clemson (-22.5) at Louisville Clemson has already had their near disaster of the season, against North Carolina. Even though Scott Satterfield has the Cardinals playing better, the Tigers look locked in right now, if you look at how they handled Florida State. Clemson to win and cover. Tennessee (+35.5) at #1 Alabama There was a time when this was a rivalry game, but now Tennessee is just happy to win SEC games. Will Nick Saban run up the score or not? Given how loudly LSU is banging the College Football Playoff drum, I see him looking to make a statement. Crimson Tide to win and cover. #4 Ohio State (-25.5) at Northwestern This game is on a Friday night, which is often a time when huge favorites end up getting surprised — not just against the spread but straight up. However, Northwestern has had a hard time moving the ball against anyone, not just the elite defenses in the Big Ten. Buckeyes to win and cover. #9 Florida (-6.5) at South Carolina Can the Gamecocks knock off two straight SEC opponents in the top ten? This time they get the Gators at home, and expect that stadium to be raucous. Will Florida be ready to teach some lessons after that frustrating loss at LSU? Or will they have a tough loss hangover? Gamecocks to cover. #18 Baylor (+4) at Oklahoma State Baylor just beat Texas Tech to go 6-0, and Texas Tech already beat Oklahoma State this year. However, Stillwater is a tough place to play. Can the Baylor juggernaut push their record to 7-0? Bears to cover.
