eSports Betting: League of Legends CBLOL Matches: April 24th

Written by on April 22, 2020

eSports has become the focus of the sports betting world, and the Brazilian professional league for League of Legends is the CBLOL, currently in its sixth year of operation. We are in the last week of regular season play in 2020 Split 1, as eight teams square off over nine weeks in triple round-robin format for four playoff spots — and to avoid automatic relegation, which happens to the eighth-place team. The playoff winner will advance to the Mid-Season Invitational, a global tournament of regional league champions. If you’re thinking about including the Brazilian League of Legends in your online betting, take a look at our thoughts on the four April 24 matchups and their betting odds.

Matches for April 24th

Vivo Keyd (1.45) vs FURIA Uppercut (2.62) (12:00 pm ET)

This will be the sixth overall meeting between Vivo Keyd and FURIA Uppercut. Keyd has won four of the five previous matchups. In the first two meetings in 2020 Split 1, Vivo Keyd has swept both times. Vivo Keyd had a three-match winning streak come to an end in their last encounter, losing to INTZ, but before that they had taken down paiN Gaming, Flamengo eSports and Prodigy Esports.

FURIA Uppercut also lost their last time out, falling to Flamengo eSports, but they had won four straight, mounting a major comeback in the standings. Those wins came over paiN Gaming, KaBuM! e-Sports, Prodigy Esports and Redemption eSports POA. FURIA certainly seems due in this series, but Vivo Keyd seems to be head and shoulders above them for now.

Prediction: Vivo Keyd wins

KaBuM! e-Sports (1.927) vs paiN Gaming (1.788) (1:00 pm ET)

Despite the fact that paiN Gaming is a slight favorite (likely based on their one-match lead in the CBLOL Split 1 standings), KaBuM! e-Sports has won five of the six matches that the two teams have played — although paiN Gaming did win the most recent match on March 15. paiN Gaming actually comes in on a three-match losing streaking, having fallen to INTZ, Keyd Stars and Redemption eSports POA — the last-place team in the CBLOL standings.

KaBuM! e-Sports has a three-match winning streak, having beaten Redemption eSports POA, INTZ and Prodigy Esports. Given that momentum, given how even these teams are, and given the slight edge in value, I’m going with KaBuM!’s League of Legends squad.

Prediction: KaBuM! e-Sports wins

Flamengo eSports (1.19) vs Redemption eSports POA (4.35) (2:00 pm ET)

Unless Redemption eSports POA can win all three of their matches this weekend and hope for some losing by INTZ and KaBuM! e-Sports, they will be headed for relegation, so you know that they will have maximum motivation…until they lose. The League of Legends teams have met seven times in the past, with Flamengo eSports winning five of those matchups.

Flamengo eSports actually lost to Redemption eSports POA the last time they met, on March 15, and they have lost three of five. They did beat FURIA Uppercut their last time out, but before that they had lost to paiN Gaming, Vivo Keyd and Prodigy Esports.

Redemption Sports POA has just one win in their last five matches, but it did come in their most recent action on April 19, as they took down paiN Gaming. While I’m a big fan of the underdog, though, I see Flamengo delivering the death blow to Redemption’s chances of avoiding relegation.

Prediction: Flamengo eSports wins

INTZ (1.64) vs Prodigy Esports (2.17) (3:00 pm ET)

These teams are just a match apart in the standings, and they have split their six matches all-time. Prodigy Esports has won the last three matchups in the series and come in as the slight underdog despite leading INTZ in the standings.

INTZ has won three of their last five matches, including an impressive win over league-leading Vivo Keyd their last time out. Before that, though, they lost to KaBuM! e-Sports. Prodigy Esports lost to KaBuM! e-Sports in their last match but beat Flamengo Esports before that.

When you give me two teams that are so even, I’m going with the one with more value.

Prediction: Prodigy Esports wins.
