San Marino GP Odds and Analysis for MotoGP Betting Preview

The reigning MotoGP champion, Francesco Bagnaia, is fortunate just to be in the field in this week’s race after he went through an ugly highside on the first lap of last week’s main race in Catalunya. After the highside, he was hit by Brad Binder and got a sizable contusion on his knee. The hematoma runs all the way down to his foot and makes moving his leg difficult. He did get medical clearance to ride this week, which means he will get a chance to defend his 2022 win at Misano. Rider concerns about the course in Catalunya only grew after the race, focusing on the shoddy grip from the asphalt, particularly at Corner 5. This week, though, things and move to Misano. Check out our sports betting insights on this week’s race in the San Marino GP Odds.

Aleix Espargaro

(Aprilia Racing) and teammate Maverick Vinales will both arrive with confidence after their big finish a week ago. Vinales has won here riding a different bike, but that experience will transfer with him. No other Aprilia rider has a podium finish at Misano, so Vinales is an interesting pick.

Miguel Oliveira

rides the 2022 RS-GP, which is the bike that Vinales used to cruise to victory here a year ago. Oliveira qualified for the front row last week and finished in the top five. Raul Fernandez, who rides for CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team with Oliveira, has a way of showing signs of speed without turning that into consistent results, but it might just be a matter of time before he figures out how to turn fast laps into fast races.

Mooney VR46

is racing at home this week – the team ownership, the riders and the equipment all come from the region. Marco Bezzechi also got caught up in the Turn 1 wreck that ended Bagnaia’s day. He was able to finish the race and collect some points, and he’s back this week, but he has pain to deal with. Luca Marini finished fourth at this race a year ago but failed to get out of Q1 last week.

Fabio Di Giannantonio

(Gresini Racing MotoGP) is also racing in front of a home crowd, and he has momentum from a speedy race at Barcelona. Teammate Alex Marquez has struggled in 2023 and is basically going to be happy to bring the season to a close.

Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco

(Prima Pramac) finished third and fourth in Barcelona, bouncing back nicely from a disappointing Austrian Grand Prix. Martin picked up 16 points in the wake of the chaos early in the Barcelona race.

Enea Bastianini

(Duati Lenovo Team) did not come out of that Turn 1 wreck at Barcelona as cleanly, so he has been ruled out for Misano. That opens the door for a lot of the competition as he has put together a stellar track record at Misano. Bastianini will also face a penalty when he returns because of his culpability in that massive wreck. Michele Pirro is racing with Arubal.it on a wildcard basis. Franco Morbidelli got points at Catalunya but would like a podium finish this week, and he’s one of just two riders (along with Augusto Fernandez of GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3) to get points in each GP in 2023. However, Fabio Quartararo also picked up big points with his finish.

Brad Binder

(Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) looks to bounce back after having to stop his own race early last week. His teammate, Jack Miller, had a much better finish in Barcelona than he did in the Austrian Grand Prix. Dani Pedrosa will join as a wildcard entry.

Marc Marquez

(Repsol Honda Team) picked up points in front of his home fans in Barcelona, but this week he’ll face a raucous and hostile crowd. He did win at Misano in the Emilia-Romagna GP two years ago. We still don’t know where Marquez will race next year, so seeing how his equipment treats him this week will give us some news about that.
