NASCAR Betting: 2020 Food City Presents The Supermarket Heroes 500 Odds & Preview May 31

Chase Elliott won Thursday night’s Alsco Uniforms 500, and if you look at the top five, you see something interesting. Behind Elliott came Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney and Ricky Stenhouse Jr — and then Kyle Busch. Elliott was a co-favorite, but then the next three were significantly further down the odds list — with Stenhouse coming in as a +15000 sleeper. The condensed NASCAR schedule is having an influence on the outcomes, and now three days later comes Food City Presents The Supermarket Heroes 500, set for Sunday afternoon at Bristol Motor Speedway. You can catch the action starting at 3:30 pm Eastern time on FS1. Check out the NASCAR betting odds for each driver as well as our suggestions for your wager cards.

There won’t be any practice runs, and there won’t be any qualifying runs at Bristol ahead of the race. Not that the grid pattern after qualification has meant much at Bristol. Five of the last seven winners on this track started in ninth position or worse, including three who started in Row 9 or even further back. It helps to crack the top 20 in qualifying, as the last time a driver won from a position further back than Row 12 was in 2004. The 2018 rules package is back, so this race will look different from the 2019 edition, for more than one reason.

Kyle Busch is the favorite for a reason. In his last five races at Bristol Motor Speedway, he has three wins, including a victory at last spring’s race. He is still winless for 2020, but he has four top-five finishes in his last seven races. Here’s an interesting fact: Kyle and Kurt Busch have combined to win four of the last five races at Bristol. Could that domination continue on Sunday?

Joey Logano has two wins this year and has also raced quite well in his recent starts at Bristol Motor Speedway. In his last nine races here, he has cracked the top ten seven times. In the Food City 500 last year, he led 146 laps before finishing in third place.

Denny Hamlin has five top-ten finishes in his last seven races at Bristol Motor Speedway — including four top-five finishes. Hamlin won the night race at Bristol in 2019 but is missing some of his crew members for Sunday’s race.

Kevin Harvick has finished in the top ten in every 2020 race. At Bristol Motor Speedway, he has seven top-ten finishes in his last nine races.

Martin Truex Jr came in ninth on Thursday night, but Bristol Motor Speedway has not been kind to him. In August, he finished 13th here, and he did not crack the top 15 in his four races at Bristol before that one. In fact, he has just one top-ten finish in his last 15 starts at this track.

Brad Keselowski has not done well here in the past, with just one top-five finish in his last eight starts at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Looking for a sleeper? Ryan Blaney came in third on Thursday and has three straight top-ten finishes at Bristol Motor Speedway, and four in his last five starts here. In three of his last four starts here, he has led at least 100 laps. Jimmie Johnson has finished in the top 11 in nine of his last 11 races at Bristol. Clint Bowyer could bring his drought of victories to an end. In his last nine races at Bristol, he has seven top-ten finishes. Last year, he finished in seventh place in both of the Bristol races and finished eighth and sixth in the two races in 2018.
