Francis Ngannou (13-3) vs Junior dos Santos (21-5)

This one gives us the most dynamic heavyweight fighter in UFC in Ngannou, who had made it all the way to top contender status in 2018 until he took a beating from Stipe Miocic, attributed to poor wrestling defense and poor stamina. After that loss, Ngannou looked more tentative in his next fight, a loss to Derrick Lewis at UFC 226. Since then, though, he obliterated Curtis Blaydes in 45 seconds and did not need that long to finish Cain Velasquez. It is unclear whether Ngannou has improved the deficiencies in his wrestling defense — or whether Blaydes and Velasquez simply lack the skills that Miocic has. Dos Santos is also going through a bit of a revival; he lost a title bout against Miocic in 2017, but since then, he has beaten Derrick Lewis, Blagoy Ivanov and Tai Tuivasa, using little more than consistent boxing fundamentals and a steady jab. If dos Santos can come away with the win, he could be a contender again, with Miocic and Daniel Cormier set to fight in the future for the title. Ngannou has the advantage when it comes to striking power and energy, but if dos Santos can sit back and turn this into a defensive fight, then he could end up winning on the cards. Dos Santos likes to engage a little too much to settle for the points. Final Prediction: Ngannou wins via knockout

Jussier Formiga (23-5) vs Joseph Benavidez (27-5)

is a matchup of the two best flyweight fighters in UFC not named Henry Cejudo. Benavidez has been the #2 UFC flyweight for some time now. Recent successes include a demolition of Alex Perez and a decision victory over Dustin Ortiz in January 2019. He may be on the downhill side of his career, but he still has a solid resume. Demetrious Johnson, Sergio Pettis and Dominick Cruz are the only three fighters ever to have beaten Benavidez, and he has a win over Cejudo. If he can win this, he should get the title bout. Formiga also has put together a solid career in UFC, with just four losses in the promotion. Each of those four losses was in a fight for a chance to contend for the title, so he is still looking for a championship bout of his own. His strengths come on the ground, but over time he has developed a serviceable striking game. His last fight, a win on the cards over Deiveson Figueiredo, showed the progress that he has made, because he won on the ground against a fighter who was stronger and bigger. This is a rematch of a 2013 fight, when Benavidez knocked out Formiga just over three minutes in. Formiga has improved considerably on his feet, and he is holding on better than Benavidez. Final Prediction: Formiga wins via decision
