His clay season ended in the third round of the French Open. He lost in the second round at Wimbledon and lost three more matches in a row before advancing to the third round at the U.S. Open. He lost in the quarterfinals at his most recent event, the Zhuhai Championships. These two players have met four times, each winning two. Norrie won their last meeting, at Indian Wells this year, in straight sets. The surface at Beijing is faster than the surface at Indian Wells, which should favor Rublev.
