Saturday, February 3

Manchester City at Burnley FC (7:30am ET)

Manchester City find themselves 15 points clear of the competition after the midweek action. Chelsea and Manchester United both lost on Wednesday, while City delivered a convincing 3-0 rout of West Bromwich Albion, thanks to a goal and an assist from Kevin de Bruyne. That match gave City over 100 goals for this season (including EPL play and other competitions). That gives City four straight wins since their January 14 defeat Liverpool, two in EPL play. Aymeric Laporte started for City, even though he had only been to practice for 45 minutes since coming over from Athletic Bilbao. Now they head to Burnley FC, who mounted a comeback to draw Newcastle, 1-1. Burnley sits 23 points back of City in the standings but are far above relegation, sitting at seventh place overall. They play a defense-first approach that looks to take advantage of mistakes by the opposition, while City has more of an attacking mentality. This could play to Burnley’s advantage, but I think City got the distractions out of their system after taking that loss at Liverpool. Soccer Betting Prediction: Manchester City 3, Burnley FC 1

Real Madrid at Levante (2:45pm ET)

Real Madrid benefited from a pair of penalties in the first half, and Cristiano Ronaldo converted both of them, pacing his side to a 4-1 win over Valencia. This ended a streak of four road games without a win for Madrid. After the side had lost to Leganes in the quarterfinals of Copa del Rey, manager Zinedine Zidane was riding the hot seat. Right now, Madrid finds the La Liga title out of reach, with just two more matches before their round of 16 tilt with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Levante and Deportivo played to a 2-2 draw. However, Levante fell into a 2-0 hole early, as Deportivo got early tallies from Adrian Lopez (19th minute) and Florin Andone (45th minute). Celso Borges was shown a straight red card in the 34th minute for Deportivo, though, and Levante took advantage, with Ivan Lopez Alvarez scoring in the 80th and 84th minutes to swipe the point. If Madrid lets off the gas early, they could suffer a similar fate on the road. It seems, though, that they have found their road stride again. Soccer Betting Prediction: Real Madrid 3, Levante 1

Sunday, February 4

Tottenham Hotspur at Liverpool (11:30am ET)

Tottenham delivered an impressive 2-0 home win over Manchester United in their last action in the midweek. They jumped out to an early lead when Christian Eriksen delivered a goal on just the fifth touch of the game, scoring the third quickest goal in the history of the EPL. Tottenham scored their second tally on an own goal, as Kieran Trippier sent a cross through that United’s Phil Jones sent into his own net. Tottenham sit in fifth place, 20 points out of first but just five points behind United — and just 12 points behind Liverpool. Liverpool bounced back nicely from their shocking loss at Swansea City (a fine way to follow up their upset of Manchester City) by going to Huddersfield and taking a 3-0 victory. Emre Can opened the scoring in the 26th minute, with Roberto Firmino adding a second tally in extra time near the close of the first half. Mohamed Salah converted a penalty in the 78th minute to give us the final score. The ironclad defense that Liverpool has rediscovered in their last two matches would have come in handy at Swansea. Will they stay focused against Tottenham? Soccer Betting Prediction: Liverpool 2, Tottenham Hotspur 2
