AC Milan had set its sights on moving back into the elite levels of Serie A and European club soccer after the storied club’s reputation had taken a dip in recent decades, and based on their performance in last summer’s International Champions Cup and this year’s Coppa Italia, it looks like they are making progress. AC Milan knocked off SPAL, 3-0, in the fourth round of the tournament, and then they doubled up Torino, 4-2, in the quarterfinals. Now they take on Juventus in the semifinals. Juventus blanked Udinese, 4-0, in the fourth round and then whipped AS Roma, 3-1. The first leg of the semifinals is set for Thursday. Can AC Milan beat one of the top teams in Italian soccer? Or will Juventus take care of business? Take a look at our sports betting preview of this clash of titans. Let’s see how the Soccer betting odds will be for the Juventus vs Milan.

Why should you bet on Juventus?

Juventus should have plenty of motivation for redemption after losing in Verona in Serie A play, 2-1, on Saturday. In that game, Cristiano Ronaldo staked Juventus to a 1-0 lead in the 65th minute, but then Verona took advantage from some lax defense by the visitors and got the equalizer from Fabio Borini in the 76th minute. Giampaolo Pazzini sealed the win for the hosts when he converted from the spot in the 86th minute. Verona held almost even in possession (46%) and outshot the visitors 16-15 (5-3 on target).

In their quarterfinal win over AS Roma, Juventus opened the scoring on a counter, with Ronaldo scoring in the far bottom corner from the left side. At the time, it was Ronaldo’s 13th goal in his last 10 games across all competitions. Rodrigo Bentancur added a goal for Juventus, and then they took advantage of an offside trap when Leonardo Bonucci converted a header to make it 3-0. Roma got a goal shortly after halftime from Cengiz Under, and they made a couple more charges, but the scoring would end at 3-1.

Why should you put your money on AC Milan?

AC Milan also took it on the chin in their last Serie A game, falling 4-2 to Inter Milan in their derby on Sunday. AC Milan took over the game near halftime, with Ante Rebic finding the back of the net at San Siro in the 45th minute. Then the ageless Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it 2-0 in injury time before the intermission. After the half, Inter Milan flipped a switch, getting a goal from Marcelo Brozovic just six minutes into the second half. Matias Vecino equalized two minutes later, and AC Milan simply could not answer. Stefan de Vrij gave Inter the lead in the 70th minute, and then Romelu Lukaku put on the icing in injury time.

AC Milan needed extra time to do it, but they finished Torino 4-2 in their Coppa Italia quarterfinal. The teams were even through 90 minutes, and Krzysztof Piatek may well have played his last game with the side, as he was largely ineffective — and Ibrahimovic came on and played well as his substitute, developing some real quality chances. It was Hakan Calhanoglu scored for AC Milan first in extra time, and then Ibrahimovic finished a cross from Samu Castillejo to yield the final score.

Juventus vs Milan Final Score Prediction

Juventus towers 22 points above AC Milan in the Serie A table, but Juventus has some questions to answer on both ends of the pitch after that defensive collapse against Verona, a match in which they just scored once. AC Milan has taken some strides, though, and I see them doing enough at home to get a 2-2 draw. Winning the semifinal outright is likely beyond AC Milan, but they have progressed enough to make the trip to Turin interesting.
