Sure Losers in NFL Week 13 of the Season

Sure Losers in NFL Week 13 of the Season

Written by on November 29, 2021

Another week, another set of surprising games in the National Football League. Cincinnati routed Pittsburgh by 31 despite yielding 263 passing yards to Big Ben. Denver doubled up the Los Angeles Chargers and inched closer to the AFC West title conversation. Baker Mayfield threw for 247 yards, but the Browns only managed 10 points in a loss in Baltimore. The Philadelphia Eagles looked ready to start pushing Dallas in the NFC East but then lost in New York to the Giants.

NFL News: Sure Losers in Week 13

Dallas Cowboys (-6) at New Orleans Saints

Thursday, December 2
Dallas has dropped three of four after losing on Thanksgiving Day to the Las Vegas Raiders. This trip to New Orleans should represent a win for the Cowboys, as the Saints do not have starting quarterback Jameis Winston (ACL) and the Saints just got drubbed at home by Buffalo on Thanksgiving. However, the Cowboys won’t have their starting right tackle, and they won’t have head coach Mike McCarthy or several assistants due to COVID-19 — and the list of players who will miss is only likely to grow. Dallas’ offense has sputtered the past few weeks, and their defense has been soft against the run and has given up big passing plays.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-10) at Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, December 5
Both teams won last weekend, as the Buccaneers came back from a 24-14 deficit to beat the Indianapolis Colts on a monster day from Leonard Fournette, who scored four touchdowns. Tampa Bay won the first meeting by 23 down in Tampa. Atlanta just doesn’t have the weapons or the mentality to keep up with the Buccaneers right now.

L.A. Chargers (+2.5) at Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday, December 5
I would jump on this line as soon as possible, because the Cincinnati Bengals are on a tear…and the Chargers are regressing. This point spread will widen once the betting public gets on it. Joe Burrow and J’Marr Chase are leading the Bengals’ offense to heights that could easily yield an AFC North title.

N.Y. Giants (+2.5) at Miami Dolphins

Sunday, December 5
The Dolphins started 1-7 but have won four in a row, as Tua Tagovailoa is catching fire and the defense is starting to gel a bit. The Giants pulled off a shocker this past week at home against Philadelphia, but I don’t see them mounting that sort of effort two weeks in a row.

Washington Football Team (+2.5) at Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday, December 5
The Raiders should pull momentum from their win in Dallas. They showed the ability to pound the ball on the ground and hit big pass plays down the field, like they did in their earlier wins this season. Washington has a shorter week after playing Seattle on Monday night, while the Raiders will have had four more days to prepare.

New England Patriots (+3) at Buffalo Bills

Monday, December 6
New England has won six straight, including an impressive home win over Tennessee. Buffalo alternates between dominating opponents and failing to show up consistently for 60 minutes. In this sort of matchup, don’t you have to go with Bill Belichick?
