One surprising statistic jumped out from Sunday’s Saints victory — they ran for more yards (193) than they passed for (186). Mark Ingram picked up 114 of those grounds yards and found the end zone twice. Quarterback Drew Brees has posted a combined paser rating of 103.2 this season, fifth-best in the NFL, but the presence of a solid running game takes some of the pressure off him. The Saints’ defense did take the ball away four times, and they sacked Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford five times, but they still gave up 312 yards through the air — and they did allow a huge comeback.
