NFL Week 13 Odds, Overview & Picks for Each Game

Written by on November 27, 2018

After their Monday Night Football loss to the Tennessee Titans, Dallas sat at 3-5 and had a 17% chance of making the postseason, according to the prognosticators. Now they have won three in a row and lead the NFC East with a 6-5 record — and have a 58% chance to make the postseason now. If you think that turnaround is a surprise, take a look at the Cleveland Browns, who put up 28 points in the first half for the first time in 27 years. Their starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, is four years younger than that notorious streak. What will happen in the NFL this week? Check out our NFL betting thoughts on each game. As always, home teams are in all caps.

NFL Week 13 Odds, Overview & Picks for Each Game

Thursday, November 29, 8:20pm ET

New Orleans (-7) over DALLAS

Yes, the Cowboys have won three in a row — over Atlanta, Philadelphia and now Washington. But Atlanta lost to Cleveland, Philadelphia almost lost to the Giants and Washington has Colt McCoy at quarterback. The Saints will torch the Cowboys like they’ve been torching just about everyone else.

Sunday, December 2 (1:00pm ET games)

Baltimore (-3) over ATLANTA

The Falcons’ losing streak has hit three games, and they are having a hard time moving the ball down the field despite terrific offensive talent. Baltimore has won two straight with Lamar Jackson running the offense, and I see him giving the Falcons’ defense fits.

Denver (NL) over CINCINNATI

The Bengals should have plenty of frustration to work out after losing to Cleveland, but the Denver defense shouldn’t give them a lot of chances. Andy Dalton looked awful against Cleveland, at the Broncos’ D is just as good.

Los Angeles Rams (-8.5) over DETROIT

Detroit is an enigma — they had lost three in a row before they edged out Carolina, but then they lost to a Chicago Bears team quarterbacked by Chase Daniel at home. The Rams aren’t always playing the best defense, but their offense moves at warp speed.

GREEN BAY (-14) over Arizona

Personally, I’m not putting any money on this game, because the Packers might go nuts and win by 30, or they might go back into one of their typical offensive shells. But if I have to choose, I like the Packers to win at home and run roughshod over the Cardinals, who don’t have much on either side of the ball.

Buffalo (+6.5) over MIAMI

The Bills just took down Jacksonville at home, and Miami is sliding off the table right now on both sides of the ball. I see Josh Allen leading the Bills to an upset down in South Florida.

Chicago (NL) over N.Y. GIANTS

We’re waiting to hear where Mitch Trubisky will return to start for the Bears, but the way the Bears play defense, they should be able to keep Eli Manning on the run and shut down a Giants team that can’t figure out how to use Saquon Barkley.

Tampa Bay (+4) over CAROLINA

The Panthers haven’t won since they took down Tampa Bay at home three weeks ago. The Buccaneers beat the 49ers by 18 points at home last week. I see this divisional game going down to the last possession, with Tampa either winning outright or covering.

Indianapolis (-3) over JACKSONVILLE

We just found out that the Jaguars will start Cody Kessler at quarterback and just fired their offensive coordinator. I’d bet on this game before the line spikes, as well as the Colts are moving the ball lately.

HOUSTON (-4.5) over Cleveland

The Texans’ defense should be able to manage the Baker Mayfield phenomenon, at least for now, and Deshaun Watson is leading this team to the postseason.

Sunday, December 2 (4:05pm ET games)

N.Y. Jets (+9.5) over TENNESSEE

Can Josh McCown lead the Jets to an upset of the Titans? Maybe not, but with the Jets’ defense, I bet they can stay close enough to cover.

Kansas City (-15) over OAKLAND

The Raiders can’t cover, and they can’t move the ball. That’s a recipe for a rout.

Sunday, December 2 (4:25pm ET games)

Minnesota (+7) over NEW ENGLAND

The Patriots are having a hard time playing consistently, and they haven’t faced a defense as good as the Vikings’ in a while. Minnesota might win this straight up, but a late Brady comeback for a three-point Pats win wouldn’t surprise me at all.

SEATTLE (-10) over San Francisco

The Nick Mullens era in San Francisco is calming down now that opponents have tape of him. Plus, Seattle is warming up for a postseason run.

Sunday, December 2, 8:20pm ET

PITTSBURGH (-3.5) over L.A. Chargers

I like Pittsburgh to recover from that high-altitude malaise that they suffered in Denver last week. However, it’s not like the Chargers’ defense is much of a dropoff.

Monday, December 3, 8:15pm ET

PHILADELPHIA (-6.5) over Washington

I like the Redskins here….but then I remember that Colt McCoy is their quarterback now.
