Top College Football Week 7 Parlay Picks

Duke at Louisville (-35), Friday, October 14, 7:00 PM ET

Pick: Louisville (-35)

The Cardinals still have hopes of making the playoffs even after losing to the Clemson Tigers two weeks ago, but their margin for error is really small. That means nothing other than a big win over Duke will be required this week. The Blue Devils have a shoddy offense, which will make it hard for them to keep up with the Lamar Jackson and the havoc-wrecking Cards. But Duke’s defense has been playing well (21.5 PPG allowed), so it may not be as easy as it sounds on paper for Louisville. Still, U-of- L has extra rest coming off a bye last week and this is Louisville’s first home game since their season-opener, so they’ll want to mark their homecoming with a big win. Combine that with the need to wipe off the bad taste of Clemson’s loss with a comfy win, the Blue Devils—who are the worst team in their division—will be hard-done to hold their own against the explosive Cardinals.

Ohio State (-10.5) at Wisconsin, Saturday, October 15, 8:00 PM ET

Pick: Ohio (-10.5)

For the first time this season, Ohio State looked “normal” tamely beating Indiana 38-17 and losing its first ATS of the season. Make no mistake, though. The Buckeyes are still massively talented on both sides of the ball with freakish talent, so their value shouldn’t be down-looked just because they didn’t blow out Indiana. Yes, the Badgers (4-1 SU and ATS) are a team on the rise, and the fact that their lone loss of the season was a not-so- bad 14-7 loss to Michigan (where Wisconsin covered the spread as an 11.5-point in Ann Arbor) tells plenty of potential for the hosts. But this is the Ohio State team that has won all its games this season by double-digits and barely has any flaws, ranking #2 nationally in total defense (3.7 yards per play), #2 in scoring defense (10.3 points per game), #3 in scoring offense (53.2 points per game), #4 in turnover margin (+1.6 per game) and #5 in offensive yards per game (537.6). That’s nothing to sniff at, and the Badgers will almost certainly feel the wrath of the extremely balanced Bucks in a big way this weekend.

UCLA at Washington State (-5), Saturday, October 15, 3:30 PM ET

Pick: Washington State (-5)

Like we’ve said here often enough, UCLA is an overrated team and nothing good will come from having high hopes on them. Last week, the Arizona State Sun Devils became the third team to vindicate this viewpoint by beating the Bruins, and they did so using their third and fourth-string quarterbacks. Up next for the Bruins is an in-form Wazzu team that is streaking on three wins, including a thrashing 51-33 win over Oregon and a 42-16 rout at Stanford in the past two weeks. As if those are not reasons good enough to be scared of standout QB Luke Falk and the red-hot Cougars, UCLA’s starting QB Josh Rosen got injured in last week”s loss to Arizona State and is a big doubt for Saturday’s trip to Washington. And even if Rosen is cleared for the game, he is likely not to be 100 percent healthy, so his efficiency should be more limited than it already has been even when he is fit. So, put simply, take Wazzu with all the confidence in the world, as the Washington State could easily win this one by 10-plus points if it wants.
