Top NCAAB Betting Picks of the Week – February 19th

Tennessee finally fell out of the top spot in the national rankings after going to Lexington and getting a beating from Kentucky. The most impressive part of this win for Kentucky was their defense’s success against Grant Williams, who was only able to attempt two shots inside the arc. Duke moved into the top spot after managing to come back from a 23-point deficit in the second half against Louisville. R.J. Barrett had the first triple-double for a Duke player since 2006, and Zion Williamson put up 32. LSU shocked Kentucky earlier in the week, winning at Rupp Arena and are in a tie for first place in the SEC at 11-1 in the conference. Now they host Tennessee this week. What are your best NCAAB betting picks? We have three for you right here.

Top NCAAB Betting Picks of the Week – February 19th

Tuesday, February 19

Maryland at Iowa (8:00pm ET, Big Ten Network)

Maryland has split their last four games, sandwiching wins at Nebraska and over Purdue at home between losses at Wisconsin and Michigan, as the Wolverines beat the Terrapins 65-52 at home on Saturday. Michigan started the game on a 14-2 run, and Maryland managed just 18 points in the first half and went into the locker room down nine, so despite scoring 34 in the second half, they could not catch up. Maryland turned the ball over 13 times in the first half, and even though they are 5-2 in Big Ten play this season when trailing at halftime, and even though Bruno Fernando put up a dozen points after the intermission, the Terrapins clanked a bunch of threes near the end and couldn’t seal the deal. Now the Terrapins head to Iowa to take on a Hawkeyes team that has won four in a row after losing to Michigan State at home and then at Minnesota. Since then, they have beaten Michigan, Indiana, Northwestern and Rutgers, beating the Scarlet Knights on their home court by two on Saturday, thanks to a three-ball from Joe Wieskamp from the corner that went in off the glass with under a second in regulation. The same thing happened in their win over Northwestern, as Jordan Bohannon drained a long three-pointer in the last second to win. Isaiah Moss had 17 points and Tyler Cook scored a dozen for Iowa. Can they hold off Maryland at home? NCAAB Betting Prediction: Iowa 73, Maryland 70

Baylor at Iowa State (9:00pm ET, ESPN2)

The Baylor Bears are in a free fall right now, losers of three of their last four in Big 12 play, as they have lost at Texas, at home to Kansas State, and at Texas Tech, although they beat Oklahoma at home before that loss to the Red Raiders. Texas Tech beat Baylor by 25, the largest margin of victory for the Red Raiders in that rivalry in 17 years. Baylor was missing guards Makai Mason (foot) and King McClure (knee) for the third straight game, and you’ll want to check their latest injury status before locking in bets on this game. Baylor had 19 turnovers that led to 25 points for the Red Raiders, and they went just 2 for 12 from behind the arc in the second half. Now the Bears head to Iowa State, who have won five of six and who rebounded from an ugly home loss to TCU with a huge win at Kansas State on Saturday. The Cyclones got five three-pointers and 23 points from Lindell Wigginton, and six three-pointers and 20 points from Talen Horton-Tucker. Marial Shayok had 13 points and 13 rebounds, and the team had 19 assists against just 10 turnovers. That’s the kind of play that will give Iowa State a deep run into March Madness. Can they do it again when Baylor comes to town? NCAAB Betting Prediction: Iowa State 76, Baylor 69

Louisville at Syracuse (7:00pm ET, ESPN)

Louisville had a 23-point lead over Duke at home on Tuesday well into the second half but then saw the Blue Devils roar back for a 71-69 win. The Cardinals had a funk that continued into their next game, a home tilt against unranked Clemson — and the Tigers almost won, but the Cardinals scraped out a 56-55 win. In that victory, Louisville led by seven points with 17 seconds left — and Clemson still had two chances in the last seconds to steal the win. Clemson got a three, and then Clemson forced a jump ball and a turnover before draining another three. Louisville turned it over again on the next inbound, and Clemson had a shot blocked and then missed a shot on the offensive rebound. Can Louisville hold it together at Syracuse? Meanwhile, the Orange (who beat Duke at home in ACC play earlier this season) have won three of five, but they lost at North Carolina State by 15 on Wednesday. Frank Howard led the Orange with 21 points, but Syracuse shot only 35 percent on the night, while the Wolfpack shot 64 percent in the second half, using a 14-0 run in the second half to salt away the game. Can Syracuse and their vaunted 2-3 zone deliver an upset over the reeling Cardinals? NCAAB Betting Prediction: Syracuse 66, Louisville 64
