The Hamilton Tiger-Cats now have the longest winning streak in the Canadian Football League at four games, and their 13-3 record has them four games ahead of Montreal in the East Division. Toronto and Ottawa both lost, leaving them tied in the East basement at 3-13. That made nine losses in a row for Ottawa, giving the Redblacks the longest skid in the league. In the West Division, both Calgary and Saskatchewan won, so they are tied at 11-5 atop the division. Winnipeg is 1 ½ games back at 10-7 after losing last week. Edmonton won to get back to .500 at 8-8, while British Columbia lost their second in a row to move to 5-12, so we wonder if their four-game winning streak was just a flash in the pan. Calgary at Winnipeg

This is the other side of the home-and-home series between these two West Division powers. Calgary beat Winnipeg at home last week, 37-33, on the strength of three passing touchdowns from Bo Levi Mitchell and a rushing score from Ante Milanovic-Litre. Mitchell now has 2,831 passing yards and a 14:10 TD:INT ratio on the season. He has two 1,000-yard receivers in Reginald Begelton and Eric Rogers. Winnipeg almost pulled out the win despite getting only 134 passing yards out of an injured Chris Streveler, who threw one touchdown pass and two interceptions. He now has an 8:14 TD:INT ratio and needs to improve his ball security if the Blue Bombers are going to have a shot at winning the west. Now they must win their last two games and get help from Calgary — and one way to get that help would be to beat the Stampeders this week. Final Score Prediction: Winnipeg 34, Calgary 30

Hamilton at Montreal

Hamilton hopes to keep rolling after their 33-12 shellacking of the Ottawa Redblacks last week. Dane Evans went 32 for 41 for 452 yards and a score (and a pick). Brandon Banks led the Tiger-Cats with seven receptions for 116 yards and a score. On defense, Hamilton held Ottawa to just 141 yards of total offense, behind eight tackles and a fumble recovery from linebacker Simoni Lawrence. Montreal beat Toronto at home last week, 27-24, behind a three-touchdown performance from quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. DeVier Possey caught four balls for 88 yards and a score in the win. On defense, though, the Alouettes gave up 392 yards of offense to an Argonauts team that is not an elite unit, and if Montreal does not play better defense this week, things could get ugly. Final Score Prediction: Hamilton 31, Montreal 23

Ottawa at Toronto

The battle for the basement in the CFL East Division has an important game on Saturday as two 3-13 teams tangle at Toronto’s BMO Field. Ottawa took that beating against Hamilton last week, as quarterback Will Arndt went just 17 for 30 for 112 yards. On defense, things were not any better, as the Redblacks permitted 548 yards of offense, wasting an eight-tackle day from defensive back Randall Evans and five tackles and a pick from De’Chavon Hayes. Toronto lost in Montreal last week, but quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson seems to have responded to his brief benching, as he went 35 for 45 for 342 yards and a pair of scores. His top target was Chandler Worthy, who caught nine balls for 93 yards and a score. These two teams have only met once before this season, and Toronto won in Ottawa by 29 points. The Redblacks only score 14 points per game, and I see Toronto winning handily. Final Score Prediction: Toronto 33, Ottawa 13 Saskatchewan (+1.5) at Edmonton (7:00 pm ET)

Saskatchewan beat British Columbia by eight points a week ago, an ugly sort of win that the Roughriders need to transcend if they want to keep their hat in the ring for a West Division title. Cody Fajardo threw for 224 yards and a score, and William Powell ran for 111 yards on 15 attempts, also scoring a touchdown. Edmonton comes in off the bye; they had played BC the week before and won, 19-6. Logan Kilgore threw for 194 yards for the Eskimos — with a pick. Shaquille  Cooper ran for 94 yards on 18 carries, with a touchdown. The Edmonton defense was solid — but their offense struggled a bit. I see Saskatchewan taking the game to Edmonton as they chase that West Division crown. Final Score Prediction: Saskatchewan 24, Edmonton 20
