NASCAR Bank of America ROVAL 400 Odds and Betting Picks

Ryan Blaney ended up beating Kevin Harvick by about a foot at last week’s YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, capping off an electric push to the checkered flag that featured plenty of drama over the last 10 laps. This made three career wins at Talladega for Blaney and locked him into the Round of 8. Harvick’s car was disqualified after the race for violations involving his windshield fasteners, so Blaney would have won anyway. That elevated William Byron and Denny Hamlin to second and third place, respectively. The race featured 70 lead changes among 24 drivers. Joey Logano led the most laps, with 48, but ended up settling for 24th place. This week brings the Bank of America ROVAL 400 from the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course. Let’s look at the NASCAR Cup Series Odds for the field and our wager card suggestions.

There is a rumor going around that the ROVAL won’t host any more races after this weekend. This could lead to some wild driving, as the ROVAL can get ugly in a hurry, with crashes coming in bunches. Turn 1 is insane, the back stretch is dangerous, and the infield portion simply should not feature competition among stock cars, and this race will also feature artificial stage cautions. With all of this chaos going on, there is a lot of room for the long shots to come and steal a win.

Chase Elliott is a superstar going through a major funk, but just like every televised professional sport, NASCAR needs its superstars to win. The decision to set up the artificial stage cautions ahead of time means that early pit strategy comes into play. Since he doesn’t need stage points (being outside the playoffs), he will pit early between stages and end up with a place in the top five, an ideal location for a driver who has seven road course wins and two wins at the ROVAL.

AJ Allmendinger is a four-time winner at the ROVAL in the Xfinity Series, taking four straight victories from 2019 to 2022. He finished in the top five here in the Cup Series last year as well as a top-ten finish here in 2018.

Kyle Busch can only advance realistically to the Round of 8 with a victory here. This means that he will also leave the stage points in the table and pit cycle early to go after the win. He is driving the No. 8 RCR Chevy, which Tyler Reddick drove to two different road course wins in 2022. In this car, he had two runner-up results and another top-five finish in his first three road races. In the last two ROVAL races, he has come in third and fourth, respectively.

Austin Cindric is a terrific road course driver and is also outside the playoffs. He also doesn’t have to protect Ryan Blaney, a teammate who is already in the Round of 8. Cindric has two top-ten finishes on road courses this year, and he had four top-ten finishes on these courses a year ago. He has five wins on road courses in the Xfinity Series.
