NASCAR Cup Series Odds and Betting Opportunities for All-Star Open / All-Star Race

North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina is the site for this year’s All-Star Race, set for Sunday night. The Open starts at 6:00 pm Eastern on FS1, with the All-Star Race to follow. You can listen on Motor Racing Network or the SiriusXM app. William Byron heads to North Carolina riding the momentum of a Cup Series win at the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. He is the only three-time winner in the Cup Series so far in 2023. He was able to zip around a crash between Kyle Larson and Ross Chastain in Lap 288 and take the win. Chastain drove hard going into Turn 1 and ended up plowing up the track, wrecking his own car and Larson’s as well. Larson ended up 20th, while Chastain did not finish at all in just the latest of Chastain’s escapades in the Cup Series. We have the NASCAR betting odds for the race as well as explanation of the format and some wager suggestions.

Bet on the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Open / All-Star Race!

So, how does the All-Star Race work? There will be 25 drivers in the event. The first twenty-two qualifiers earned a slot by either winning a Cup Series race in 2023 or having won an All-Star Race in the past. Three spots are left – two to come from the All-Star Open and one from a fan vote. The two qualifiers from the Open will be the winners of the two stages; the Open runs 100 laps, with a competition break after Lap 40. After the two qualifiers from the Open are named, fans will vote for the last driver from the remaining Cup Series drivers who aren’t already in the All-Star Race.

William Byron

took second in the ASA National Super Late Model race on Wednesday at North Wilkesboro and will also drive in the Truck Series race on Saturday. That gives him a significant advantage over the other drivers on a track that has not been in the NASCAR rotation in more than 20 years. He also won the short-track race race in Phoenix earlier this year (North Wilkesboro runs 0.625 miles) and had the best average lap time at Richmond.

Kyle Larson

has the skill set to figure out North Wilkesboro in a hurry and leverage that edge against the other drivers.

Denny Hamlin

grew up racing on short, flat tracks in the South, so he will be prepared for this track. He did win the last iRacing contest when NASCAR was in a COVID shutdown, and that race took place at North Wilkesboro.

Chase Elliott

has a win at North Wilkesboro – back in 2010, when he won a Late Model race here. He finished third in the event here on Wednesday and was second fastest in the practice runs on Tuesday.

Martin Truex Jr

picked up a win at the L.A. Coliseum at the start of the season, on another flat, short track, and Truex is driving a JGR Toyota, which has proven to be a speedy car this year.

Kevin Harvick

is in an SHR Ford, and those cars do well at flat, short tracks. He won in 2022 at Richmond and would have gotten the victory at Phoenix in 2023, but a caution late in the race scrambled the field.

Christopher Bell

is driving in the Truck Series race to get a handle on the course, and he already has a terrific record on short tracks.
