2026 MotoGP Calendar: Futures, Value Picks, and What Tracks to Avoid

One of the great things about MotoGP is that the offseason is not particularly long. It feels as though the 2025 season just finished, with Marc Marquez winning yet another world championship, but here we are looking forward to 2026. The schedule has already been set, with a total of 22 races coming our way next season and the MotoGP 2026 betting odds market is already buzzing with futures picks.

We will have another great battle for the MotoGP World Championship, but who will come out on top, who will fail, and what tracks will be the toughest for those who love to wager on this exciting sport? Let’s see if we can break it all down.

Who Are the Favorites for 2026?

While the 2026 MotoGP schedule has been set, we are still waiting for the odds to be released for the upcoming season. Even without those, we still have a very good idea of which riders are going to be in the hunt for the World Championship crown. Like most motorsports, it is a combination of the vehicle and the driver that lead to success, so with that in mind, here are the riders we believe you should be focusing on:

  • Marc Marquez – The defending champion and arguably the best rider ever to compete in MotoGP. He will almost certainly head into the new season as the one to beat but is there anyone who can knock him off the throne.

  • Alex Marquez – It cannot be easy to be in the same sport as your older brother, who is absolutely dominant. Alex, though, claims not to be jealous of his sibling and loves the challenge of going against him. The brothers finished first and second overall in 2025, so look for them to be at or near the top once again.

  • Marco Bezzecchi – Aprilia Racing are once again putting all their faith in Bezzecchi as their top man, and they believe that he can improve upon his 3rd place overall finish in 2025. They have a good bike and Bezzecchi has proven that he can win at this level, so he might be a good dark horse pick.

  • Francesco Bagnaia – This rider rose to prominence in the years when Marc Marquez was limited by injuries, and you now have to wonder if he can return to the top of the heap now that Marquez is back to full form. Put him in the longshot category for now.

  • Pedro Acosta – 2026 might be a little too soon to put Acosta in as a likely champion, as he simply does not have a bike good enough to compete for a World Championship. He is certainly one to watch, though, and he could prove to be a good underdog pick in certain races.

Which Are The Toughest Tracks on the MotoGP Schedule?

For those of us who love to wager on MotoGP, every race presents a unique challenge when trying to pick a winner. There are some tracks on the MotoGP circuit that prove to be more problematic than others in that regard, and here are a few of them:

  • Silverstone – There have been no repeat winners on this track over the last 10 races there, making it difficult to pick a clear favorite.

  • Le Mans – Even when the weather is perfect, which I never guaranteed, this track always provides more than its fair share of spills

  • Phillip Island – Its coastal location can make conditions tough, plus the track is asymmetrical, making it tough to navigate cleanly.

  • Circuit of the Americas – Another one where the conditions always seem to deliver multiple crashes and surprise outcomes.

  • Jerez – Not always a nightmare track, but if you get any kind of rain, expect crashes and mayhem
