One league that is in the spotlight right now is the USL League 2, which is currently down to the final 8 teams in the playoffs. The league is split across 4 conferences and 19 divisions, with 144 teams taking part. The division winners, as well as the best second-place teams in each conference go into the playoffs, which is done in a regional bracket style. Dothan were one of the teams that had to go in via the back door after finishing 2nd in the South Central Division, but they have certainly made the most of their opportunity. They have beaten the Little Rock Rangers and Louisiana Krewe to reach this point, scoring 3 times and surrendering 0 in those 2 games, so they look defensively solid. Fort Lauderdale had a similar route here, finishing 2nd in the South Florida Division. They needed extra time to get past Laredo in a 2-1 win before beating Sarasota by the same score.

Flint City Bucks Vs Minneapolis City – Central Conference Final
Flint City have to be considered a threat to go all the way given how strong they are on attack. They won the Great Lakes Division, scoring 30 goals in 12 games. They did get a bit of a scare in the opening playoff round, getting past Steel City by a score of 4-3. Things were a little smoother in the next round, where they beat Fort Wayne 2-0. Minneapolis City won the Heartland Division on goal difference over Sueno City, and proved that they can also score goals. They needed penalties to get past Peoria after a 2-2 draw before beating Sueno City 2-0 in the last round.

Vermont Green Vs Lionsbridge – Eastern Conference Final
Vermont Green is unbeaten this season, winning the Northeast Division and scoring a ton of goals in the process. They laid a beating on Hudson Valley in the opening round, winning that game 4-1. The goals continued in the next round, although they had to work hard for a 3-2 win over FC Motown II. Lionsbridge finished the regular season in 2nd place in the Chesapeake Division and are perhaps a bit of a dark horse. They beat Salem City 4-0 in the first round, then won 2-1 over Northern Virginia.

Ballard ended the regular season as the champions of the Northwest Division and then went into the playoffs on an absolute tear. They took the Colorado Storm apart with a punishing 6-0 win, but they did have to work a little harder in the last round, beating Snohomish Utd 2-1. Ventura County won the Southwest Division by 4 points to punch their playoff ticket. They beat San Juan 2-1 in the first round before going on to win 2-0 against FC Tucson.
