Why Should You Bet on the Rangers?

The Rangers continue to hum along with the fifth-highest scoring offense in the NHL (2.8 goals per game). The Blueshirts had reeled off three straight wins until they fell in overtime to the Penguins. The problems for the Rangers come on the other end of the ice, as even having the great Henrik Lundqvist in goal has not kept the Rangers from surrendering crucial goals at the wrong time. The Hurricanes have one of the weaker offenses in the NHL, so the Rangers should not have as many problems.

Why Should You Put Your Money on Carolina?

The Hurricanes have played in a ton of close games but have ended up on the short end of too many of them. They are strong on the penalty kill (5th at 84.4%), but they give up 2.6 goals per game (16th) while only scoring 2.4 (25th). If you can get a 1.5-goal line on this one, I might consider taking the Hurricanes, but the Rangers have their eyes set on a strong playoff position and have two more days of rest coming into this matchup than Carolina does.
