Week 12 College Football Odds and Picks for Top 5 Games

Texas A&M has fired head coach Jimbo Fisher just two years after giving him a ten-year, $95 million contract extension in 2021. That leaves the university on the hook for a $76 million payout – and it means that Fisher will get more money from the school not to coach than his best quarterback, Jameis Winston, has earned so far in his NFL career. Fisher guided the Aggies to a combined 26-10 record in his first three seasons, and in 2020 the team finished ranked fourth. The last three seasons have produced a combined record of 19-15, including a nine-game losing streak on the road. That ties a school record that dates all the way back to 1936. The Aggies have recruited well; in 2019, the school signed 70 players ranked in the ESPN 300, and the 2022 class was ranked the tops in the nation. It will be interesting to see who the Aggies bring in next season. In the meantime, check out our top sports betting picks from College Football Week 12.

Week 12 College Football Odds and Top 5 Betting Picks

#9 Louisville Cardinal at Miami Hurricanes

NCAAF Lines: #9 Louisville (-1.5) vs Miami
When: Saturday, November 18 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL
TV: FS1

The Cardinals would clinch a spot in the ACC Championship with a win, but it will be tough sledding against a Miami team that almost stopped Florida State last week. The Hurricanes’ rushing defense permits just 86 yards per game, the lowest total by any ACC school. Louisville is close behind them, though, allowing just 91.9 yards per game on the ground. Miami has to return to Tyler Van Dyke at quarterback as Emory Williams had replaced him but suffered from a leg injury. Cardinals to win and cover.

Bet on the #9 Louisville at Miami!

Rutgers Scarlet Knights at #12 Penn State Nittany Lions

NCAAF Lines: Rutgers (+19) vs #12 Penn State
When: Saturday, November 18 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Beaver Stadium, University Park, PA
TV: ESPN

Rutgers could find a Penn State team mentally reeling from losing at home to Michigan last week. That setback knocked the Nittany Lions out of the Big Ten East race – and the school fired offensive coordinator Mike Yurich. Rutgers only scored 16 combined points when they lost to Ohio State and Iowa, the Nittany Lions also have an elite defense. Rutgers has not scored more than ten points in any of their last nine dates with Penn State, and I view the Nittany Lions as a team that will come out angry rather than depressed. Nittany Lions to win and cover.

Bet on the Rutgers at #12 Penn State!

#17 Tulane Green Wave at Florida Atlantic Owls

NCAAF Lines: #17 Tulane (-9.5) vs Florida Atlantic
When: Saturday, November 18 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: FAU Stadium, Boca Raton, FL
TV: ESPN+

If Tulane wins out, a New Year’s Six bowl would be their reward. However, the Green Wave have slowed down a bit lately; in four straight games, they have entered as double-digit favorites. While they have won straight up, they have not covered. FAU is 1-4 straight up when favored to lose. The Owls’ run defense allows 147.6 yards per game, and the Green Wave has a stout running attack. Green Wave to win and cover.

Bet on the #17 Tulane at Florida Atlantic

#16 Utah Utes at #19 Arizona Wildcats

NCAAF Lines: #17 Tulane (-9.5) vs Florida Atlantic
When: Saturday, November 18 at 2:30 pm ET
Where: Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ
TV: Pac-12 Network

Arizona has a four-game winning streak going after they came back to stop Colorado on the road. Utah has dropped three games, but after each of their last two losses, they blew out their next opponents (Cal and Arizona State, respectively). Backup quarterback Bryson Barnes has to watch ball security for the Utes to have a chance, but if he can minimize turnovers, the Utes should win on the road. Utes to win.

Bet on the #16 Utah at #19 Arizona!

#24 Oklahoma State Cowboys at Houston Cougars

NCAAF Lines: #24 Oklahoma State (-7.5) vs Houston
When: Saturday, November 18 at 4:00 pm ET
Where: TDECU Stadium, Houston, TX
TV: ESPN2

The Cowboys had a clear road to the Big 12 Championship after upsetting Oklahoma at home in the finale of the Bedlam rivalry, but in typical OSU fashion they laid a massive egg at UCF last week. They stay on the road with a trip to Houston, losers of three of their last four in Big 12 play. The Cowboys can still get to the conference title game, but their defense is porous. Houston doesn’t play much defense either, and I see this game coming down to the last possession. Cougars to cover.

Bet on the #24 Oklahoma State at Houston!
