College Football Odds: Prop Bets to Consider before 2023/24 Season begins

NCAAF Props: On Saturday, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart officially chose Carson Beck as his starting quarterback for 2023, replacing Stetson Bennett IV, who had led the Bulldogs to two straight national titles. Beck had come into preseason practice as the favorite to get the job over Gunner Stockton and Brock Vandagriff. Beck has immense shoes to fill, as Bennett was the offensive MVP of the last two national championship game victories and was a finalist for last year’s Heisman Trophy. Beck will have a new offensive coordinator, as Mike Bobo moves up from an assistant role. If NCAA Football wagering is part of your sports betting, here are some college football Props wagers to check out before the season begins.

College Football Props | Vanderbilt Commodores

NCAAF Props: Vanderbilt to go OVER 3 ½ wins (-170)

Before you hit “Delete” on this article, yes, I know that Vanderbilt hasn’t won more than three games since 2018, when the Commodores went 5-7 – beating Florida and Kentucky down the stretch. In 2023, they start their schedule with Hawaii and Alabama State at home. They visit Wake Forest, but the Demon Deacons lost quarterback Sam Hartman to Notre Dame. Their fourth game is against UNLV, so they could go over this total in just four games. In the SEC East, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, and Florida all have win totals that are no higher than seven. So even though this prop doesn’t offer a lot of value, it is one that should come true.

College Football Props | Ole Miss Rebels Quinshon Judkins

NCAAF Props: Quinshon Judkins (RB, Ole Miss) to win the Heisman Trophy (+5000)

Quinshon Judkins ran for 1,567 yards as a true freshman – with 929 of those yards coming after contact. He ran for 10+ yards on 42 different carries. All of these numbers were tops among all SEC running backs and cracked the top five for all running backs in Power 5 conferences. The primary obstacle for Judkins, of course, is that Ole Miss doesn’t win a lot of football games. If Lane Kiffin can coach a team to match the level of his rhetoric in the press, then the Rebels should be doing well enough next year for Judkins to get national attention, which could push him to the trophy even if the Rebels lose to Alabama again.

College Football Props | Michigan Wolverines

NCAAF Props: Michigan to post a 12-0 regular season (+380)

The non-conference schedule for the Wolverines is beyond soft: East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green, all at home. In the Big Ten, the Wolverines do have to visit Michigan State and Penn State, but they get Ohio State at home, and they don’t have to play Wisconsin or Iowa. Their starting quarterback (J.J. McCarthy) and their powerful tailback tandem are also back. Jim Harbaugh won’t be suspended for that Level I violation this year beyond the three-game self-imposed penalty that the school placed on their head coach. Can Michigan bounce back from that humiliation against TCU in the national semifinal and run roughshod over the 2023 slate of opponents? There’s some value in betting that they can.

College Football Props | Florida State Seminoles

NCAAF Props: Florida State to make the CFP semifinals (+320)

Clemson has largely faded from national prominence since the departure of Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence’s replacement, D.J. Uiagalelei, transferred across the country to Oregon State, and while the Clemson defense is still ironclad, Florida State has quarterback Jordan Travis, who posted a 91.7 grade in 2022. His targets include Jaheim Bell, Keon Coleman, and 6’7” Johnny Wilson. Tailback Trey Venson put up a 0.51 highest missed tackles forced average, the best in the nation in a decade. Jared Verse might be the top edge rusher in the nation. So why wouldn’t the Seminoles think that they can make the CFP?
