NCAAF Odds: Over/Under Picks for Week 8

NCAAF Odds: Over/Under Picks for Week 8

This time around, we got to see Washington and Oregon squaring off, both as top-ten teams, and the contest did not disappoint as Washington delivered a 36-33 win after scoring a late touchdown. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning earned himself a stack of second guesses after going for it three times on fourth down, coming up short each time. We are also seeing an Arizona team punching above its weight, pushing USC hard on the road, challenging Washington at home and then demolishing Washington State, 44-6, last week. The Wildcats have a resilient defense that is better than the sum of its parts and an opportunistic offense. Going into Week 8, let’s break down some quality College Football Odds and O/U Picks on the point total.

College Football Odds and O/U Picks for Week 8: In its last year of existence, the Pac-12 is producing must-see football each week.

Week 8 NCAAF O/U Picks and Lines
UCF (+18.5) vs #6 Oklahoma (O/U 66)
North Texas (+19.5) vs #23 Tulane (O/U 63)
Minnesota (+5.5) vs #24 Iowa (O/U 31.5)
Washington State (+19.5) vs #9 Oregon (O/U 62)
South Carolina (+6.5) vs #20 Missouri (O/U 60)

UCF Knights at #6 Oklahoma Sooners

When: Saturday, October 21, 2023, 12:00 pm ET
Where: Memorial Stadium (Norman, OK), Norman, OK
TV/Live Stream: ABC

Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel takes on his former team as UCF continues its debut Big 12 season. Oklahoma comes in off the bye after stopping Texas in impressive fashion at the Cotton Bowl, and UCF also has had two weeks off to figure out how to stop their three-game losing streak. UCF has permitted 95 points in the last two weeks, losing at Kansas State and Kansas. The road trip continues in Norman, and it’s hard to see UCF slowing down a rested Oklahoma offense, either. Take the over.

North Texas Mean Green at #23 Tulane Green Wave

When: Saturday, October 21, 2023, 3:30 pm ET
Where: Yulman Stadium, New Orleans, LA
TV/Live Stream: ESPN2

Michael Pratt is back at quarterback for Tulane, at 100% health, and Tulane is ranked once again. They face North Texas, now a conference opponent in the AAC, for the first time in ten years. The Mean Green have covered in both of their games as an underdog this year, and quarterback Chandler Rogers is starting to thrive in the system that new head coach Eric Morris has installed. Even so, this is a high point total given the Tulane defense. Take the under.

Minnesota Golden Gophers at #24 Iowa Hawkeyes

When: Saturday, October 21, 2023, 3:30 pm ET
Where: Kinnick Stadium, Iowa City, IA
TV/Live Stream: NBC

This is a minuscule point spread, but Iowa’s last game ended in 15-6 fashion against Wisconsin, and the Badgers have a livelier offense than the Golden Gophers do. These games tend to be close, as the last four Minnesota-Iowa games down in Iowa City have been decided by a combined 21 points. Minnesota comes in off the bye, but they are still looking to cover as an underdog after failing in two opportunities. Iowa doesn’t do much on offense, but they tend to permit even less on defense. Take the under.

Washington State Cougars at #9 Oregon Ducks

When: Saturday, October 21, 2023, 3:30 pm ET
Where: Autzen Stadium, Eugene, OR
TV/Live Stream: ABC

Washington State has a two-game losing streak and has nowhere to go but up after getting humiliated, 44-6, by Arizona last week. Oregon has some frustration to work out after giving up a late touchdown to lose at Washington last week. Washington State has just run for 47 yards combined over the last two weeks and has struggled with ball security. I expect Oregon to deliver a beating similar to what they handed out to Colorado a few weeks ago. Take the over.

South Carolina Gamecocks at #20 Missouri Tigers

When: Saturday, October 21, 2023, 3:30 pm ET
Where: Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field, Columbia, MO
TV/Live Stream: SEC Network

The Gamecocks have given up 112 points in their last three games: 30 in a win over Mississippi State and then 41 apiece in losses to Tennessee and Florida. They’ve scored 96 points in those games, so offense doesn’t seem to be the problem. They visit a Missouri team that is 6-1 and has only scored fewer than 30 points once – a Week 2 win over Middle Tennessee. Even in their loss to LSU, the Tigers put up 39 points (while giving up 49). Missouri’s opponents have not scored fewer than 21 points since Week 2. Expect plenty of offense this week. Take the over.
