Why should you bet on Cleveland?

The Indians will send Corey Kluber to the mound to start this game, and that 6-6 record has been more a function of execrable run support early in the season than any flaws in his stuff. His last time out was his second complete game of the season, as he held the Angels to two runs and three hits on June 10, fanning eight while just walking one. The Royals only have two batters hitting over .219 against Kluber in their career with more than three at-bats against him. On the other side, the Royals are starting Ian Kennedy, who gave up four home runs in the Royals’ 7-5 downfall to the White Sox last Friday.

Why should you put your money on the Royals?

The Royals had lost eight in a row but now have won three straight, and they have also won seven in a row at home. The Indians don’t have any trouble with their pitching but instead have seen their offense go on the fritz on multiple occasions this year, and the fact that they only plated a single run on Monday is not a good sign. If Kennedy can mow down the Indian hitters like Edinson Volquez did on Monday, this could be another win for the Royals as they try to climb atop an American League Central that has already seen all five teams in first place at one point this year.
