Patricky “Pitbull” Freire vs Ryan Scope gives us a hometown hero in Scope, making his first foray into the cage in more than a year. His last fight came in December 2017, and while he has fought a lot at the regional level, and has won some fights in BAMMA, he has not fought anyone of Pitbull’s skill level yet. Pitbull likes to bring the fight right to his opponent, using an aggressive, offensive approach. He has won four fights in a row, with three coming via the knockout. How much stamina will Scope have after such a layoff, and how will he respond to the stress of that instant onslaught? Bellator Newcastle Prediction: Pitbull wins via knockout Aaron Chalmers vs Corey Browning is a showcase for Chalmers, who is an interesting prospect in this division. He won his first Bellator fight and has three BAMMA wins, and in all four of those fights, he brought things to a close in the first round. At Bellator 200, he delivered a guillotine choke in a submission win over Ashley Griffiths, and he has two submission wins and two knockouts. Browning is still looking to make his way in the promotion, and he will have his hands full with Chalmers. Bellator Newcastle Prediction: Chalmers wins via knockout Terry Brazier vs Chris Bungard features a fighter on a nine-bout winning streak in Brazier, including five wins in BAMMA — with two of those ending in the first round with submissions. Bungard has a three-fight winning streak, with two finishes. Bungard has fought at various points in the European circuit and is looking to get a win at this advanced level of MMA competition. Bellator Newcastle Prediction: Bungard wins via submission Fabien Edwards vs Lee Chadwick gives us an up-and-coming fighter in Edwards, with five wins in five professional fights, against a veteran in Chadwick, who has 24 wins in 38 pro fights. Including six amateur fights, Edwards has finished 10 opponents in 11 fights, delivering two knockouts, five TKO finishes and three submissions, winning the other bout via unanimous decision. Chadwick has finished 19 opponents but found himself finished on nine occasions. While Chadwick has the experience, Edwards has brought aggression and strategy into each match and will push the veteran hard. Bellator Newcastle Prediction: Edwards wins via knockout Cal Ellenor vs Nathan Greyson gives us a pair of regional stars in the UK who will be featured in the fight night series that Bellator is planning for the United Kingdom. Ellenor is more of a floor fighter, while Greyson is a big bomber, looking for the knockout blow. Ellenor has had a hard time escaping grapplers — while Ellenor has had a hard time when the fight stays upright. The fighter who can keep things the way he wants them will win — and Greyson looks like the stronger case here. Bellator Newcastle Prediction: Greyson wins via knockout
