XFL Betting Analysis and Prediction: Week 9 | XFL Lines

Vegas Vipers (+6.5) at Houston Roughnecks (O/U 43.5)
Vegas +200 / Houston -250

Saturday, April 15 – 12:30 pm ET, ABC | Houston beat San Antonio by two in overtime on the road last week despite some serious rust on starting quarterback Brandon Silvers, who had to sit out Week 7 with a triceps/elbow injury. He went 17 of 136 for 146 yards and two scores – but also threw a pair of interceptions. It didn’t help that Houston could only manage 25 yards on the ground. The Roughnecks’ defense stood tall, snatching two interceptions and logging six sacks. That same defensive intensity will be needed against Vegas quarterback Jalan McClendon, who almost took Vegas past St. Louis last week. That game also went to overtime, and McClendon went 13 of 23 for 159 yards and a score despite missing star wide receiver Jeff Badet. Vipers to cover.

Orlando Guardians (+1.5) at San Antonio Brahmas (O/U 39)
Orlando +105 / San Antonio -125

Saturday, April 15 – 4:00 pm ET, ESPN | Orlando heads to San Antonio as an underdog as the Brahmas must win this game to have a shot at the postseason. Quinten Dormandy fumbled the ball three times and threw a pair of interceptions in the loss to Arlington last week, and San Antonio’s defense isn’t any easier to solve, leading the XFL in tackles for loss (56) and sitting at third in sacks (20). The Brahmas tried Jack Coan at quarterback, but he couldn’t move the ball. Tailback Jacques Patrick rumbled for 96 yards and put up 134 all-purpose yards, scoring a touchdown. This will be a defensive struggle, so even with that low point total, I’m taking the under. Give me Orlando to cover.

Arlington Renegades (+8.5) at D.C. Defenders (O/U 41.5)
Arlington +300 / D.C. -400

Sunday, April 16 – 12:00 pm ET, ESPN | Arlington would clinch a spot in the postseason with a win over the Defenders. They won last week with Luis Perez at quarterback, and he didn’t throw any interceptions, going 16 of 25 for 190 yards, but he also didn’t throw any touchdowns. The passing game will have to find the end zone for this upset to happen. The Defenders have not been defending all that well, giving Orlando and Seattle 69 points in the last two games. At home, though, they permit just 22.5 points per contest. Arlington has a stout defense, but I’m not sure that it can hold the Defenders. D.C. to win and cover.

Seattle Sea Dragons (+1) at St. Louis Battlehawks (O/U 46)
Seattle -105 / St. Louis -115

Sunday, April 16 – 3:00 pm ET, ESPN | St. Louis leads Seattle by a game in the race for the second (and last) playoff slot in th eNorth. St. Louis won the first matchup, 20-18, as A.J. McCArron led a late rally. McCarron missed last week’s game against Vegas with an injury, and while Nick Tiano played well in relief, McCarron’s passing skills will be needed against the Seattle defense. Seattle got 301 yards, three passing touchdowns and a pick out of Ben DiNucci, including a scoring strike to Jahcour Pearson with 31 seconds remaining, but the two-point conversion to take the lead failed. The Battlehawks are 2-1 at home on the season, scoring 65 combined points, and with McCarron back, St. Louis should be able to complete the season sweep. St. Louis to win and cover.
