2023 NFL Preseason Odds for Betting in Week 2

2023 NFL Preseason Odds for Betting in Week 2

NFL Preseason Odds: Did you know that the Baltimore Ravens have now won 24 preseason games in a row? That’s the longest streak in the storied history of the NFL. They barely hung on against Philadelphia in their preseason opener, edging the Eagles, 20-19. They broke the Green Bay Packers’ record of 19 straight preseason wins, which had stood since 1962, back in 2021. After the Ravens, the second-longest active preseason win streak is just four games, held by the Las Vegas Raiders and the Chicago Bears. The only Ravens who have been on the team for the whole streak are offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley and kicker Justin Tucker. The Ravens face Washington on Monday night of the second week of the 2023 NFL preseason – can they make it 25? We will see. Check out the NFL Preseason betting odds for each preseason showdown as well as our thoughts on what is likely the dress rehearsal week for most NFL teams.

Cleveland Browns vs Philadelphia Eagles

NFL Preseason Odds: Cleveland Browns (+3.5) at Philadelphia Eagles
When: Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

In a matchup of dress rehearsals, both teams could struggle to move the ball. The Browns should have an improved defense, and the Eagles were able to slow a lot of teams down last year. I like the Browns’ backup quarterbacks better than I like the Eagles’, so I think the Browns sneak back in when the backups take the field. Browns to cover.

Bet on the Cleveland Browns vs Philadelphia Eagles

Carolina Panthers vs New York Giants

NFL Preseason Bets: Carolina Panthers (+3) at N.Y. Giants
When: Friday, August 18 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

Bryce Young vs Daniel Jones might be the most interesting quarterback matchup of this preseason week. Will Young prosper against what will likely be a simplified Giants’ defensive package? How much will we see of Saquon Barkley and Jones? Panthers to cover.

Bet on the Carolina Panthers vs N.Y. Giants

Cincinnati Bengals vs Atlanta Falcons

NFL Preseason Bets: Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5) at Atlanta Falcons
When: Friday, August 18 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
TV / Streaming:

The Bengals are all about caution, as Joe Burrow will remain on the sideline with his calf strain. That basically means a cautious approach for the entire roster, while the Falcons are all about establishing momentum for the coming season. Falcons to win and cover.

Bet on the Cincinnati Bengals vs Atlanta Falcons

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Detroit Lions

NFL Preseason Odds: Jacksonville Jaguars (-4) at Detroit Lions
When: Saturday, August 19 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

Jared Goff might see less action than Trevor Lawrence will in the teams’ dress rehearsal, but does that mean the Jaguars can pull away against a tough Detroit defense? Lions to cover.

Bet on the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Detroit Lions

NFL Preseason Odds | Miami Dolphins vs Houston Texans

NFL Preseason Bets: Miami Dolphins (+3) at Houston Texans
When: Saturday, August 19 at 4:00 pm ET
Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

Tua Tagovailoa dueling against C.J. Stroud? If Tua has fully recovered from his concussions last season, he has the talent around him to slice and dice the Houston defense. Dolphins to cover.

Bet on the Miami Dolphins vs Houston Texans

Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers

NFL Preseason Bets: Buffalo Bills (+2.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers
When: Saturday, August 19 at 6:30 pm ET
Where: Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA
TV / Streaming:

The Steelers have more to prove here as a team on the rise, but the Bills should have motivation in their dress rehearsal after getting embarrassed at home in the divisional playoff. The Bills have a more complete team on both sides of the ball. Bills to cover.

Bet on the Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts

NFL Preseason Odds: Chicago Bears (+3.5) at Indianapolis Colts
When: Saturday, August 19 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

Anthony Richardson should get a lot of time, and he has impressed observers with his quarterback skills so far. The Bears have put talent around Justin Fields, but the Colts’ defense is still better on paper. Colts to win and cover.

Bet on the Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Jets

NFL Preseason Bets: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2) at N.Y. Jets
When: Saturday, August 19 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
TV / Streaming:

I don’t expect to see Aaron Rodgers, so can Zach Wilson outduel Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask? Buccaneers to cover.

Bet on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Jets

New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers

NFL Preseason Odds: New England Patriots (+3) at Green Bay Packers
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI
TV / Streaming:

Mac Jones against Jordan Love? Normally, I’d go with Bill Belichick’s defensive genius, but the Patriots just added Ezekiel Elliott, which tells me that their offense is going to struggle. Elliott showed that his motivation (and conditioning) had taken a step back last year in Dallas. Packers to win and cover.

Bet on the New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers

NFL Preseason Odds | Tennessee Titans vs Minnesota Vikings

NFL Preseason Bets: Tennessee Titans (-2) at Minnesota Vikings
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN
TV / Streaming:

I’m interested to see what Will Levis can do for Tennessee against the Minnesota defense. I’m also curious to see what Derrick Henry still has in the tank. I’m not really curious about Kirk Cousins or Alexander Mattison, the Vikings’ starting quarterback and tailback, have to give because we’ve seen that before, and there’s a reason why Dalvin Cook was the starter. Titans to win and cover.

Bet on the Tennessee Titans vs Minnesota Vikings

Kansas City Chiefs vs Arizona Cardinals

NFL Preseason Bets: Kansas City Chiefs (-7.5) at Arizona Cardinals
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ
TV / Streaming:

Don’t expect Kyler Murray to take the field against the Chiefs, as his nebulous injury recovery continues. I do expect Patrick Mahomes to play the first half and the Chiefs to lead at the intermission. I’m staying away from this one because the Chiefs’ lower-level defenders might struggle to maintain that lead. If you must bet on this, go with Chiefs to win and cover, but I wouldn’t bet heavy here.

Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs vs Arizona Cardinals

Denver Broncos vs San Francisco 49ers

NFL Preseason Bets: Denver Broncos (-4) at San Francisco 49ers
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:30 pm ET
Where: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
TV / Streaming:

Brock Purdy has been cleared to practice without having to take a day off in between, but for now, the 49ers’ offense will still be in the hands of Sam Darnold and Trey Lance. Russell Wilson should get a lot of time as he continues to learn Sean Payton’s system. Broncos to win and cover.

Bet on the Denver Broncos vs San Francisco 49ers

Las Vegas Raiders vs Los Angeles Rams

NFL Preseason Bets: Las Vegas Raiders (-3.5) at L.A. Rams
When: Saturday, August 19 at 9:00 pm ET
Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
TV / Streaming:

We’re hearing that Jimmy Garoppolo is headed for his best season ever, based on how he looks in the Raiders’ camp. We’re hearing that the Rams are rebuilding, which means looking at a lot of players way down the depth chart in the preseason. Raiders to win and cover.

Bet on the Las Vegas Raiders vs Los Angeles Rams

Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks

NFL Preseason Bets: Dallas Cowboys (+7) at Seattle Seahawks
When: Saturday, August 19 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Lumen Field, Seattle, WA
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

The Cowboys don’t really prioritize winning in the preseason, making it all about player evaluation. They did beat the Seahawks at home in the preseason last year by one, but they’re on the road against a team coached by Pete Carroll, who is a lot more competitive in the preseason. But a seven-point spread? Cowboys to cover.

Bet on the Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks

New Orleans Saints vs Los Angeles Chargers

NFL Preseason Bets: New Orleans Saints (-3) at L.A. Chargers
When: Sunday, August 20 at 7:05 pm ET
Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

Derek Carr threw his first touchdown pass as a Saint in the team’s preseason opener. He should get some more work this weekend, but so should the Chargers’ first-team offense, although Justin Herbert is still exercising precautions as he rehabs his rib injury and shoulder surgery. Saints to win and cover.

Bet on the New Orleans Saints vs Los Angeles Chargers

Baltimore Ravens vs Washington Commanders

NFL Preseason Bets: Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) at Washington Commanders
When: Monday, August 21 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
TV / Streaming: ESPN

The Ravens have gotten to the point where the preseason winning streak is a matter of pride and up and down the roster. They’re playing a Washington team that made the national news for complaining about the intense approach that new offensive coordinator Eric Bienimy takes in preparing the team. That’s not a good look for a team that is at best mediocre. Ravens to win and cover.

Bet on the Baltimore Ravens vs Washington Commanders
