Why should you bet on New York?

One of Pineda’s struggles has been keeping the ball on the first-base edge of home plate, as his pitches are either tailing in for balls or tailing over the plate and becoming quite hittable. The Tigers have shown some signs of life at the tail end of this slump, mounting a furious seven-run rally in their 11-9 loss to the Angels on Tuesday, only to see a walkoff home run by C.J. Cron of the Halos. Also, the Tigers have slid Matt Boyd into their rotation to take the fifth turn for this makeup game. He also made a spot start on SAturday in Oakland, and he pitched fairly well. The Yankees have not hit well against lefties at all, and Aaron Hicks is the only Yankee who has ever faced Boyd, and pitchers generally have an advantage in their first meeting with a team.
