Bellator 250 Odds, Betting Preview & Predictions

Bellator’s next big night is set for Thursday, October 29, from Mohegan Sun Arena, in Uncasville, Connecticut. Bellator 250 is headlined by a fight for the vacant Bellator Middleweight World Champion between Gegard Mousasi, the former middleweight champ, and Douglas Lima, who currently holds the Bellator Welterweight belt. The co-main event pits Henry Corrales against Brandon Girtz in a featherweight fight. You can catch the entire evening’s slate of fights on CBS Sports Network.

Take a look at the full fight card, along with our thoughts on betting Bellator 250.

Bellator 250 Preview

Gegard Mousasi vs Douglas Lima gives us a redemption story in Mousasi, who failed to rise to become a champion in the UFC promotion but, since his switch to Bellator in 2017, has gotten multiple title fights after his debut against Alexander Shlemenko. He also captured belts in Dream, Strikeforce and Cage Warriors, and his 9-3 UFC record is nothing to sneeze at. Mousasi loves to land jab after jab, drawing energy out of his opponent, particularly in the longer, five-round headliners. When he fought Rafael Lovato Jr for the middleweight belt at Bellator 223, he was way behind after the first two rounds. However, keeping that jab going helped him to come back. However, he will need to be more aggressive early against Lima, stockpiling points in case it goes to the cards.

Lima has also gone on a tear. In the last decade, he has lost just three fights in 21 outings, and he has come back to avenge two of those losses, beating Rory MacDonald and Andrey Koreshkov after losing to them initially. This is just his third middleweight bout in his career, and it is worth asking whether coming up 15 pounds will not compromise the power available in his hands. He stopped Kobe Ortiz in 2012 at Bellator 79, in the waning seconds, but he also made some mistakes, staying too still and making himself an easy target for jabs.

Xbet Final Prediction:
Mousasi wins via decision

Henry Corrales vs Brandon Girtz is a fight that appears to be designed to help Corrales get back into the win column. Early in his MMA arc, he won the featherweight and bantamweight belts for King of the Cage. However, when he has taken on the top fighters in Bellator, he has not been able to succeed; the likes of Patricio Freire, Juan Archuleta (the current Bellator bantamweight champ) and Daniel Straus (formerly the two-time featherweight champion). Corrales has dropped two fights in a row, and he doesn’t go through extended losing streaks. After losing to Freire in 2016 at Bellator 153, he won five fights in a row, including a first-round knockout of Aaron Pico at Bellator 214.

Girtz has also had a difficult time as of late in Bellator, but the promotion has been giving him challenging opponents. He faced Derek Anderson and Adam Piccolotti when both were unbeaten prospects, and he faced a champion in Michael Chandler. However, he’s also picked up wins against Derek Campos and Saad Awad. Beating Corrales would be a huge notch for him, but the talent differential may be too great.

Xbet Final Prediction:
Corrales wins via decision
