On Saturday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder visit Detroit to take on the Pistons. The Thunder (51-22) are in first place in the Northwest Division and routed the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night, 111-92. They face the Atlantic Division leaders, the Toronto Raptors, on the road on Monday night before heading back across the border to meet the Pistons. Why Should You Bet on the Pistons?

Detroit had won five straight games before the Hawks cooled them off on Saturday. Andre Drummond has been a dominant player on the inside for Detroit, and he continued that on Saturday, posting 19 points and pulling down 17 rebounds. Tobias Harris chipped in another 21 for Detroit. If the Pistons had not gone 0-for-7 to start the game, falling into an 11-2 hole, the game might have come out differently. Given the energy with which the Pistons are playing right now on both ends of the floor, Oklahoma City needs to come ready to play. If the line is double digits here, I might think strongly about taking the Pistons at home.

Why Should You Put Your Money on Oklahoma City?

Don’t put too much stock in the rout that the Thunder pulled off against San Antonio. After all, the Spurs did not dress Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, LaMarcus Aldridge, or Kawhi Leonard, as coach Gregg Popovich decided to rest six of his key players ahead of the long playoff stretch ahead. Given that the Spurs are likely to finish with the #2 seed and the Thunder the #3 seed in the West, this game did not do much in the standings. Even so, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were their usual dominant selves, and Enes Kanter dominated the middle with 20 points and 10 boards. Against the Pistons, they will need a similar performance inside but should still prevail.
