Goodyear 400 Odds and Betting Picks for NASCAR Cup Series

Kyle Larson picked up the win on Sunday night at Kansas Speedway, edging Chris Buescher in a photo finish by just 0.001 seconds, the tightest margin in the history of NASCAR Cup Series. Kyle Busch had gone into a spin on Lap 261 of the scheduled 267, sending the race into overtime. Buescher moved into the lead at the restart. Larson drew even on the last lap’s backstretch, and the two banged doors a couple of times nearing the finish line. Buescher led with just a foot to go, but Larson surged into the lead just in time. Larson now has two wins on the season and two wins in his career at Kansas Speedway, making 25 total career wins. Hendrick Motorsports has six Cup Series wins as a team, the most in the circuit. This week, NASCAR heads to South Carolina and Darlington Raceway, and the Cup Series event is the Goodyear 400, set for Sunday at 3:00 pm Eastern time. FS1 has the broadcast, and the radio call will be on Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM. We have the sports betting odds for each driver to win, along with suggestions for your wager cards.

Bet on the NASCAR Lines for Goodyear 400

Tyler Reddick

Reddick won last week, but Darlington is a place where chaos often ensues at the front, and race-long leaders end up with DNFs. If Larson can’t stay clear of late contact, he might end up way back in the pack. So he’s a favorite, but it’s hard to label him a smart pick here.

Denny Hamlin

Hamlin dominated the Labor Day race at Darlington last year, all the way until the moment late in the race when a wheel came loose. Hamlin ended up settling for 25th place.

Martin Truex Jr

Truex Jr has the second-best driver rating in the Cup Series across the last seven races at Darlington. He won here in 2021…and he has four finishes where he failed to crack the top 20.

William Byron

Byron got wrecked here by Joey Logano in the spring 2022 race at Darlington. Byron had dominated the race, but Logao wrecked him late and swiped the win. Byron did recover from that setback and won the spring race here a year later.

Erik Jones

Jones has elite talent, but his Legacy Motor Club Toyota is a mediocre car. Week in and week out, he gets the absolute most out of his vehicle. He won the Southern 500 here in 2022, as Darlington has become his best track.

Chase Elliott

Elliott has a challenge on his hands, as Larson and Hamlin have dominated both the 2024 season and recent history at Darlington. However, Elliott will get hot again one of these days.

Ross Chastain

Chastain has the eighth average driver rating across the last five races at Darlington. However, his finishes in those races are 5th, 29th, 20th, 30th, and 3rd, showing just how capricious the track can be.

Kyle Busch

Busch is running in the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday and then running again on Sunday, so he should be reacquainted with the track. At Dover and Kansas, Busch ran more than 60 percent of his laps in the top 5.

Brad Keselowski

Keselowski is part of the RFK Ford team that looked fast at Kansas. They also looked fast at Darlingotn last year. Keselowski had the sixth-highest driver rating in the fall race and the fifth-highest rating in the spring.

2023 Goodyear 400

Darlington Raceway is the venue for this week’s NASCAR action, and the Cup Series race is the Goodyear 400, set for Sunday at 3:00 pm Eastern. You can watch the race on FS1 or listen on the Motor Racing Network or the SiriusXM app. Last week, Denny Hamlin bumped his way past Kyle Larson on the last lap at Kansas Speedway to win the AdventHealth 400. Hamlin started his chase after a restart on Lap 221 of 267, and Hamlin ended up turning Larson into the outside wall with slight contact; Larson recovered, but he was 1.307 seconds behind Hamlin in second. This ended a 33-race drought for Hamlin, who won at Kansas for the fourth time. The race featured 37 lead changes among a dozen different drivers, setting a record for lead changes for a 400-mile race on a 1 ½-mile intermediate track. Let’s look at the NASCAR betting odds for the Goodyear 400, and then we’ll talk wager card suggestions.

Kyle Larson

looked headed for victory last week until Denny Hamlin’s fender and some bad luck cost him first place. Look for him to come to Darlington with even more motivation.

William Byron

has had some bad lucky. At Dover he led the most laps but didn’t get the win. He lost three laps at Kansas but still roared back to come in third. Even with bad luck, he has a really fast car.

Denny Hamlin

got booed at Kansas by fans who didn’t like the way he won. However, a win is a win, and Hamlin looked very fast while he was making the chase.

Martin Truex Jr

showed us that leading laps is important. He led 79 laps at Kansas but didn’t win. He led 68 laps and got the win at Dover two races ago. He’s still fast, so keep your eye out for him.

Tyler Reddick

is a fearless racer when it comes to approaching the wall, and that’s a tactic that pays off at Darlington. Reddick likes to race this way, so don’t be surprised to see him right there at the end.

Joey Logano

won the spring 2022 race at Darlington and led the most laps (107). Last fall, he led 64 laps and came in fourth. When he finished in the top ten at Kansas last week, he told the rest of the sport that he is finally ready to start defending his Cup Series title.

Christopher Bell

came in fifth and sixth at Darlington last year, and this year he’s in a really fast Toyota, even though he’s not the fastest driver on his team.

Chase Elliott

almost won at both of the 2020 races at Darlington. However, that was in a different racing package; since the change, he has struggled here.

Kyle Busch’s

car made the podium twice at Darlington in 2022, but Tyler Reddick was driving. The last time Busch won at Darlington was way back in 2008.

Erik Jones

won the fall race at Darlington in 2022, his second win at that race. He’s sneaking around under the odds radar this time around as well.

Ryan Blaney

doesn’t like Darlington, with just one top-ten finish in his last 11 races here (and that was an eighth-place). His average result over that stretch? 17.5.
