High drama is brewing in two of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. The Carolina Hurricanes came back from a 3-0 deficit in Game 2 against the N.Y. Islanders and won, 5-3. They tied the game with 2:15 remaining in the third period and then scored the game-winner just nine seconds later. That set a new NHL record for the quickest game-tying and winning goals in the third period of any playoff game, and it was just the seventh time in the history of the NHL that a team had tied and then won the game in the last three minutes of a postseason game.
